Hopefully Bicevskis won't be playing today, it's time for Pavlovs to kill the puck.

Why the **** does Fasth start again for?...

Well gratz Latvia for this win.
That's a good question. He hasn't looked like a starting goalie, at all. Fasth hasn't been bad, but he hasn't been good either. Läck should be given a chance. All we can do is hope Lundqvist joins the team.

We don't really stand a chance today. Only Merzlikins can keep it close, but we're going to fall apart later in the game anyway. Can't keep up with Swedish speeds with our typical game the entire 60 minutes.

Actually, I like Fasth in general but I didn't like how he played vs the USA.

Swedish defense looking so fantastic on paper, impressive.

Most teams in the NHL wouldn't mind this setup in a Stanley Cup Final, only Karlsson missing. They may still be a bit rusty on the big ice though.

I would cry tears of joy if we had a single player of that caliber on our team.

;-) I did exaggerate a bit though, we will see how it goes.

Hedman and Ekman-Larsson are our true defensive stars, world class, Hedman is simply fantastic (one of my favorit Swedish sportsmen).

Klingberg very good (almost a defensive star, on the verge I guess you could say) but a bit confusing, looking better in Dallas than in Sweden so far, great offensive player when on his game - sometimes not equally good at playing defense though... ;-)

Brodin still young and promising, still waiting for a breakthrough season, strong at the defensive play though

Strålman, good, a veteran and very experienced but still not a star.

Edler has unfortunately declined, he used to be a defensive star and so much better. Some of his decline may have to do with the Canucks having some tough years. I can't really judge him right now, a bit confusing for me. If he somehow manage to play up to his capacity then he is fantastic but this will probably not happen? A very strong physical player though which I like, love that part of his game, hitting people.

It is very unlikely, but I hope Latvia steals a point or two from Swedes.
We have went to OT against them a couple of times in recent years for some reason, but I don't think this team will hold up against constant pressure. We have too many inexperienced players.

It's one thing to run around and pressure your opponent and beat them in battles around the boards, but it's a whole different story once you get hemmed in your own zone for half of the game, which is bound to happen. We have already seen some questionable defensive positioning in the tournament before, but our previous opponents did not have the skill to capitalize on those mistakes.

Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if we get steamrolled today.

DW Grönborg will find a way to lose against Latvia!

This is gonna be the first game I'll go to for this WC on my doorstep. Looking forward to some beers among Swedish and Latvian fans around a hopefully really fun game. :)

Hey Latvia bros, how has Bleugers looked on the bigger ice?
Just curious.
Blueger/Blugers is one of the bigger surprises of the tournament for Team Latvia. He's been very solid so far. Reads the game very well, doesn't look like it's his first World Champs at all. Just mature decision making on the ice, solid all around player. Isn't overly physical, but covers the ice well.

Too bad he's been put on our 4th line with pretty bad linemates. Since we're winning games, the coach hasn't changed the lines, but he should be rising up the ranks as the tournament goes along.

Personally, I think he should be assigned to our PP unit with the playmakinh skills he has. He's not being used efficiently with a bunch of wooden-handed bums playing alongside him.

I see thx.
He made good strides this year in Wilkes Barre.
Was curious how he was doing on the bigger ice surface.
Thx again.
