This will be a low scoring game. Slovakia might have the edge with high level talent but Finland has more depth.
3-2 for the Finns

Think it will go to overtime, probably a low scoring game as mentioned by others. 2-1 for Finland. But wouldn't be surprised if the game will be a roller coaster either...

Cannot decide, but against all odds I think there will be more goals than others think, something like 4-3 decided in the very ends seems just right.

Not often one could argue that Slovakia has a stronger team on paper than Finland. They are clearly better on defence, and if it's Rybar versus Lankinen I prefer the former. Finland has the edge among forwards, though Slovakia has the better top end talent with Tatar and Panik. Will be an interesting game.

Didn't think much of Slovakia before their game against USA today, seems like this will be a tight one.

What depth? Even the more anonymous players in the Slovak team are strength players in for example the Finnish Liiga. Finland has depth alright, depth in players who don't have any business even in AHL. We have Kaapo, a kid who could've played in the U18 games, and our big captain Anttila, who is really great in KHL, AS A FOURTH LINER! aaahhh! O,o

5-1 for Slovakia!

ps. To Finns, isn't it funny, that mtv/cmore has two separate commentators on all publicly shown games? Is Saukkonen's only role to be so bad, that people will pay?

Either team winning in regulation-time takes a huge step towards winning the group.

Slovakia gave everything vs. the U.S. and has a little hangover, which is why Finland's noname team pockets another win. Might be decided in OT or after PS.
FIN 3 - SVK 2

Should be an easy win after that Canada game, which probably means that Finland will lose.

Keep on mind that the last time Slovakia beat Finland at the WC was in 2003

In recent times Finland has dropped losses to teams that it has normally beaten, though. Teams that weren't of Slovakia's calibre, for example Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and France, some of which had never beaten Finland before.

The coaching this year is probably better though, and the team consists of players who aren't going to under-estimate anyone.

I expect a tough match. Finland isn't going to beat anyone because of their talent alone. They will struggle against teams that bring 100% team effort.

So basically that means that the streak has lasted too long and will end now. My point is that the streak means nothing because it's a new team vs new team with different players and Slovakia should get a boost from home tournament and crowd.

Slovakia will be harder for Finland than USA. I would probably say that even if SVK-USA game hadn't happened yet.

No disrespect to team Slovakia but... you won yesterday because team USA was god awful, the entire game.

You won most of the face-offs, most of the physical battles, 99% of the time it looked like USA didn't even try (slightly in the 3rd though)
USA's passing was horrendous, skating was none existent, obviously their preparation to that game failed.

Sorry home team fans but, we are going to dominate you in this game, 6 - 1 win for us Finns. (home crowd or not)

Methinks Finland's going to change the goalie. Vehviläinen's turn.

Part of why USA didn't try was likely because of the 200% effort the Slovaks put in. The U.S. players weren't ready to do the work. Talent only takes you so far. USA an Canada can get away with performances like this against France or GBR, but if they tought it would ever be enough against Finland and Slovakia they were fooling themselves and wastly undderating your opponent, similar to how you seem to be undderating Slovakia as well.

If Finland somehow wins the game 6-1 it will almost certainly be because Slovakias goaltender has a bad day. On paper these two teams are quite close. Even the odds shows it. Slovakia are expected to have an equal chance of beating Finland as the Czech's had of beating Sweden, for example. Sweden dominating and crushing the Czech's 6-1 would have been quite the achievement.

I don't know. In my opinion there is no clear favourite. I expect a very close game with only 1 goal difference for the winner. But I keep up optimism and predict 3-2 win for Finland in OT. Slovakia has of course the spectactors behind them and the win against USA gave them a lot of self-confidence I think. It won't be absolutely an easy game for Finland.
