Its not everyday you see a match when both teams are happy with the result....

Here I am hoping at least 3 players from this years U18 somehow make it to the squad in 2 years under a real coach, it would be a great kid checking line.

Next year we're protected. We can bring our whole U18 team and still make it through

People here seem pretty confident that Slovakia is staying in Elite now.

Italy could still get wins/points from Germany and Denmark. Ignoring the Russian blowout, they've allowed 8 goals in 3 games against Latvia, Slovakia, and USA, which isn't too bad at all really, especially looking at Germany's equally mediocre offense (10 goals in 4 games). If they can stay tight defensively, it's not a stretch to think they could push Germany to OT. Then it would come down to winning against Denmark, which would still be an upset, but not exactly a huge one.

Meanwhile, Slovakia getting any points from Russia, Sweden and USA would be very surprising at this point.

Still a longshot, sure. But if I'm Slovakia I wouldn't be booking my tickets to Denmark just yet.

I don't see why Sturm would be less than thrilled with getting Holzer. He'd be a big boost for the defense, as he has proven in the past. Sure, if he's the one available it means Germany's best player isn't, but that is the only negative. In terms of impact, Holzer probably beats Kühnhackl.

I agree - Holzer would help the back end.

Well, of course Italy could get something out of the game against Germany, but it's a bit odd to quote the amount of German goals without considering who they were playing against. Their first three games were against the USA, Sweden and Russia, the best teams of the group, scoring a combined seven goals against these teams is hardly mediocre. Latvia got nine points out of scoring just one goal more against Italy, Denmark and Slovakia.
