Why is aus den birken in the net and not greiss?

Greiss talked to Sturm immediately after the goal. No idea why, though.

Regarding the goal: since it looked differently from different perspectives and the initial call was good goal, it had to stay this way. Damn ...

While it looked above the bar on one replay, we may have been misled by the fact that the camera was definitely from a low perspective, which made the stick look above the bar given the angle. I am sure the video refs have had a better camera feed from the bar level.

Could be a micro-injury maybe he tore something?

Well, that's not the game I hoped for yet. Germany definitely has problems to generate some creative play. It's the first time, the game is not driven by the opponent ...

That perspective was not from a low angle though, nor do I think that the refs have a better angle for that either. There aren't a whole lot of cameras facing from the side at that height.

From the two angles we as viewers got, one was indecisive because there was no way to judge the height of the stick from that one, while the other from the side showed a rather obvious high stick. I don't see how the call can stand. Even if that angle would have been low, it wasn't low enough to make up that much of a difference.

Anyway, what's done is done, the goal counts and Germany will have to do a whole lot better than that in the second period. They really seemed shocked right after the goal, before getting back into it at the end. It needs more than 3-4 good shifts though.

Obviously the ice wasn't good enough and the Zambonis had to start over again. What can I say ...

It's Öln :laugh::popcorn:

Aus den Birken should be happy, that there are no own goals in ice hocky.
Oh dear ...

I hope, Germany will somehow regain it's mojo :(

respect for German fans.
I would be very disappointed (pissed) from the game so far. all decisions and etc...
