What more can you say...should be a dandy...another instant classic. I gave the edge to the Americans at the start of the tourney, but Canada has looked and played like the better team up to now BUT still hoping that these 2 meet in the final and whichever team loses today will win the rematch.

I think Osiecki is going to keep Milano with Larkin and Fasching and Motte will be with Eichel.

I really think the US is vulnerable because of their inexperience. It's going to take a monster game from Demko to win.

USA beats Slovakia 3-0 while Canada beat them 8-0. USA beat Finland 2-1 in shootout while Canada beat Finland 4-1. mhmmm I wonder which team is better *coughcoughCanadacough*

Is it on at 4pm EST like in the title or 8pm EST like in the OP????

4PM EST.

Team Canada requested it because they wanted to go to Toronto ASAP to prep for the playoffs. I assume Team USA didn't have an issue with that.

I wonder if the plan to get them on the road right away, is so that they're in Toronto already, in case some New Years festivities break out. They won't be partying, travelling, playing - they'll have that travel out of the way immediately.

As a fan, though, I prefer the evening (my time) game.

Wish it were on at 2 pm. I will only be able to catch around the first 2 periods due to prepping for tonight with my brother.

A fun, underreated component of today's game is that the losing fans will concede NOTHING. either way, we'll hear, "we'll see what happens in the medal round" and it will probably be true. Today is just an appetizer for Monday ( I hope ).

I've been hyped for this game since before Christmas. Judging by both team's performances so far, this game should be a great challenge.

That said, go Canada go!

4-3 Canada

Duclair (2), Virtanen, Domi
Milano (2), Larkin

This is going to be a great game! The NYE game is always a classic, can't wait!

Canada 3-2 (Reinhart, Domi, Fabbri)

I'd imagine the Mcdavid line matches up with Eichel's line and the Larkin line gets matched up with the Domi line. Its pretty interesting that the tournament leader in scoring is considered to be Team Canada's third line centre. That's some pretty high end depth scoring.

These American teams are always full of hyped stars who never go anywhere, like "Colin Wilson".
