this whole game i've heard "chabot has been canada's best defenseman" so which one is it guys? i'm not even a sens fan and i don't care about chabot but this is so annoying.
every one of these GDT's is full of:
"_____ is so unimpressive"
"_____ sucks"
"wow ____ >>> ____"
stop trying to make final evaluations on these young, inconsistent, unfinished-products of players based on a couple of plays in a single period of a tournament, holy ****.

More Barzal, Konecny, and Crouse in the 3rd would be nice. I expect Strome to be in the middle of any comeback too.

The problem with the Canadian D is that they have very poor shot selection. There is literally no offence from the D besides Hicketts, and even he takes a bunch of low percentage shots. Very little gets through - everything gets blocked or goes wide, or it's an easy save.
Need someone like Ristolainen, who can get high quality shots on net from distance.

Nice to see more and more non- Flyers fans saying this.
Sanheim led the WHL in D scoring last year, 2nd in the playoffs, and led this year until getting hurt.
Yet he didn't sniff the 5-3 and wasn't even on the 2nd pairing. Lowry is running his favorites way too much while others sit and get cold on the bench.

I can only agree with the Quenneville statement, he's on there because Kelly McCrimmon is coaching. Dal Colle or Merkley should be on this team instead. Virtanen I can't say I'm disappointed because this is what I expected out of him. He plays a hard game, not really the best offensive guy out there. Point is coming off an injury, what do you really expect? Also scoring goals is not easy lol. When you have a roster who can all score respectively, your overall scoring touch will drop in such a small tournament

Ye Virtanen has been underwhelming but honestly only a few on Canada have impressed me these 2 and a half games so far.
Strome what I notice from him is he continues to get close to the net for high scoring chances.
Marner idk why he is getting shat on. One of the only players making creative plays.
The powerplay needs to be discussed after this game. The coaches In charge of it need to do something about it. Sure they can pass on the outside but besides that I don't see much going on.
Lastly I'd like to see on the penalty kill to have 1 guy play a bit higher.
Barzal should play more as well.

Would be nice if Ekblad was available.
Or you know just put Sanheim on the first unit.
Hicketts had a better second but still he hits alot of shins.

That was one person who said that Chabot sucked. He is terribly wrong. Chabot has been spectacular so far. Could be losing right now if not for him.
The Sea Dogs are seriously missing Chabot. Their defence is abysmal at the moment.

Oh there is. His name is Sanheim. He just plays 1/2 the time of Hicketts yet is better. I wish Sanheims coach in Jr was the ahead Coach here.

Probably the injury showing through re: his skating. When he plays at his best his feet never stop moving and he is aggressive.
Your comment re Hockey IQ is probably closer to the truth, though I would say Perlini has the lowest hockey IQ on team Canada.
