6'3", 196.

Yep, Jesse is 16 years old and he is 6'3" and 196 lbs at the moment. He will get more muscles when he grows up. Maybe he will be the first real finnish powerforward at NHL, who knows?

I know one thing tho, he is playing at Oulun Karpat, my home team. We love him here. He is "something" else. Still he aint regular at the first team, not yet :)

He looks like an amazing talent. 2016 doesn't look half bad.

But you were first talking about the draft.

One guy to me showed a presence at the level of some of the best players in the tournament vision wise.

To me he looked like a better NHL prospect. I don't worry about those two mistakes.

I was, it was just a side note. You have to remember that matthews has played in smaller rinks whole of his career, when puljujarvi has played only few games. Puljujarvi is almost as close of being 15 years of age as matthews is being 16 which is huge. Kids of this age take huge steps forward in physical development every summer and now matthews is one summer ahead of puljujarvi. When you add everything together puljujarvi walks away as a winner in my opinion.

no it did not

Its kind of a bummer that the IP host has a limited capacity of posts in a thread.

That said, its a free forum, so why piss and moan about whether or not a particular thread reached 1000 posts or not. If there is a capacity limit, there is a capacity limit.

I find it ignorant to challenge a moderator regarding this issue. They are a moderator for a reason and know more about the mechanics of the site than either you or I.

Just finished watching full game.

How brilliant is that Honka guy? His skating, composure and elusiveness looks remarkable. Reminds me of a young Vatanen with a bit more jump. What a pick up by the Stars. Such a smooth and slick player.

Eichel came as advertised but I actually like Matthews a bit more, imo. Matthews seems more of an offensive dynamo who reeks of IQ and ability to change the pace of the game. Eichel is more of a guy who scores points at will when he wants to but fights the puck a bit sometimes. Both stand out players.

Was I also ever impressed with Hanifin. Guy looks like Pietrangelo out there with more physical element. Smooth, smart, rock solid, great wheels that can burn you and very difficult to go around 1vs1. He also reminded me a bit of Scotty Neidermyer with how he handles the puck and glides from one zone to the other.

Kapanen looked like he had skill with the best of them out there but I felt he let off a bit too easily at times where he could have done more with the puck.

Yet to see Werenski show up and match Hanifin in any way with the hype and comparisons between the two by some scouts.

Finnish goalie was rock solid.

I don't know how anyone can watch that game with Eichel dictating play the whole time he's on the ice and think Matthews had a better night.

It is the quintessential "this guy moves frenetically and therefore must be great" when the guy who's actually effortlessly controlling the ice is somehow...less impressive.

You also have to realize the checking lines. Eichel gets the top checking line and Matthews the second.

I thought Matthews had a good game but took needless penalties.

I haven't seen anyone say Matthews had the better game, just that he might be the better talent. You have to remember, Matthews is almost as old as Eichel but is going to have one more year of development before he hits the NHL - that's huge.

I think it`s only the age that matters, therefore Eichel is superior talent compared to Matthews at the moment.

No, Eichel is one of the oldest 2015's; they're almost a year apart.
