I just want to kick a memories thread off as we have had some AMAZING moments here at HF.

First one is not my top, but it is up there. Ray Shero's son coming on HF to let us know we traded for Iginla in 2013. That was the wildest shit i've ever seen. That day was so crazy.

What moments stand out to you. Even if they are hilarious for the wrong reason. (@Jacob and his SOPO)

The Phil Kessel trade and thread.

The one time this guy sold his left ball for back up back Stanley Cups.. Or wait, maybe it was just his soul

Either way, it worked out pretty well
Listen... i don't regret it. It has made the last few years painful but those b2b moments were unreal.

2016 is still my favorite hockey team of all time.

The one year shirts off pens off playoff avatars happened and pissed all of the boards off

Any playoff GameDay thread from 16 or 17

Parise watch in 2012

The James neal/Patrick hornqvist trade

Pithockey23 is still the best moment ever though....tons of epic moments here!!

DUUUUUUUDE i forgot about Parise watch. That shit went into July 4th didn't it? He didn't sign for a couple days or something. Oh man i remember that.

Any of the coaches getting fired. I remember the Shero and Byslma firing well.

Summer of 2015 to summer of 2017 was a pretty magical time. The 15-16 season was my favorite season of Penguin hockey ever, slightly edging out 00-01.

I also liked when the guy who was a huge Stephan Noesen fan came here to pump him the F up. I suspect it was either Noesen himself or his brother or cousin or something.

  • Pithockey23 or whatever their name was I don't think will ever be topped, those overnight posts into the morning breaking news he was coming here, what a wild ride. The photoshop of Shero holding up the Iginla to Boston version of the "Dewey defeats Truman" newspaper is still one of the better to ever grace this board.
  • Icedcapp with something similar either the same year for Iginla, or was another year, maybe the Kessel summer I don't remember, but they had some inside scoop on some big trade or signing one year.
  • Jagrwatch was fun, but for me is more tied to the Pensblog than here, especially the one overnight stream where they somehow got through to Jagr's agent on a plane and in a panic said they were I think Ron Cook, before realizing what a F-up that was.
  • Obviously the back to back Cup years, but especially the 2016 run. I was on a business trip in Florida, watching one of the Rangers games in a boardwalk bar. That run will always remind me of that trip. (similarly my memory of Kasparitis beating Hasek in OT is uniquely easy to recall because I was at a Disney resort watching it in our hotel room). So many memories from those runs. Anyway a memory that sticks out from here were the photos flooding the pre-game thread for game 5 of the final as the day went on of the crowd outside the arena getting bigger and bigger, what a shame they choked that chance of winning on home ice away. A second being the photoshop of the fire breathing turtle preventing Kunitz from scoring into an open net is another top submission to ever grace this board.
  • The 2018 Caps series and the fits people had in post game threads here sticks out in my mind due to how much they should've actually won that series. They lost at least 2 games almost solely due to some of the most asinine Letang mental errors of his career, and the Kuznetsov goal in game 6 only occurring thanks to a missed trip at the blueline allowing for his breakaway was just the icing on the cake to that clown show of a series. Though you had to figure the luck for that stretch of years was going to end at some point, it's a shame it had to end like that against that team. Worst of all Sullivan never learning from it in the years to come as we had to watch playoff teams repeatedly lose in the same way year after year from poor pinches at the wrong times leading to fast break goals the other way. The Islanders and then Rangers were the villains by then, but that post Cups stretch of failure originated with that abomination of a Caps series.
  • On the flip side, the Kunitz 30 goals/Malkin 50/Neal 40 season while Crosby was out with the neck was a uniquely fun experience getting to watch Malkin with true 1st line wingers for once. I think he won world championship mvp as well that year.
  • Similarly, Crosby's start of season stretch in the lockout shortened year before Orpik stole from him a near guaranteed Hart/Ross and potentially Rocket season was enjoyable until it wasn't. That run was so crazy in the context of the time, where he as lapping the rest of the league, had a shooter's mentality in that time period where he was winning rocket's, and was doing all that with Dupuis and Kunitz for wingers. By far his most impressive stretch of his career, and was all for not because of an unlucky ricochet to the face. Outside of wasted potential Cup winning year's, that's the season I most wish turned out differently. Side note I think it was a Yohe story in the Athletic years back where he claimed the following year where Crosby didn't attend the all-star game was an intentional "boycott" from Sid for not winning the Hart despite the injury shortened season.
  • The odd story of whatever it was that Rutherford said to Rossi in the elevator.
  • The many Johnston "stunned" face photos were some of the few highlights of his disastrous tenure.
  • Haven't been as active here in the last few years but there's probably a few more memorable moments I'm forgetting.
