Laine back in the lineup making his presence felt:

Laine scored the Habs' lone goal, a howitzer from his office:

Monty deserved better, had a 34-save performance.

Can't get mad about a shootout loss against a good team (I mean, people will but I'm not).

Monty stood tall. Good for him, really. He was due.

Dallas is a very stifling team. I don't know if I've ever watched a game with so many stops and starts. Tons of blocked shots, getting in lanes, pucks going out of play. Oettinger is one of the best in the league as well.

3/4 points against two of the league's best teams is nothing to sneeze at.

Effort was good in the back to back, but there were quite a few mental mistakes. I saw more odd man rushes in this one than the last several games combined.

I hope the stars didn't empty the tank today as they play Ottawa tomorrow.... but it did look to me that they played a high energy game.

Very little help, if any, from the out of town scoreboard once again.
