I don’t get the people praising this as a big win for Nill.
Pretty much what you’d expect for a late first. Good deal for both teams imo. San Jose gets a first and Dallas doesn’t give up a roster player for a rental in a year they need to go for it.

Honestly he's looked decent playing in overmatched minutes as our top line RD.

I think he's unfairly maligned on HFB. He's not an amazing defenseman but he's not dogshit. Played heavy minutes in the finals last year, has mostly munched tough minutes as effectively as could be expected on the worst team in hockey.
