Grade Jake Muzzin

Definitely a B. His regular season was very up and down and he struggled when he wasn't playing with Drew, but he picked it up in the playoffs and on most nights was the Kings' 2nd best dman after Doughty.

Yeah, there's no way he deserves an A for the entire season. Having said that, just take a look at the poll...74% of the votes are for grade A. People are still SC drunk.

I'd reserve A's for Kopitar, Carter, Doughty and Gaborik. While Williams' playoff performance is deserving of an A, his regular season could've been better. Same goes for Muzzin.

I gave him a solid B. He got a C+ for the pre olympic games, and a solid A for the post olympic games, and the playoffs.

Check out the link for the poll:

I concur with you wholeheartedly here. If the Muzzin we got in the playoffs is the dude we get more nights than not, we have Giordano 2.0 on our hands. Definitely gets a B from me for his whole-season efforts. And this is coming from a guy who used to think he'd plateaued due to brains.

I don't believe that hockey players are pieces of meat and should be graded.

But if I had to answer, I would go with USDA prime

Don''t try to give me hepatitis you sicko

 Good stuff!

Anyway, I find a lot of these grades for Muzzin interesting considering I feel that Martinez outplayed him most of the year and he was not paired with Doughty, but a Voynov who seemed to struggle a lot more in his sophomore season.

I give Muzzin a solid "B" , but not for the reasons most of you would. I'm grading him a bit on his performance to his potential, and I believe he can play even better than he did post-Olympics.

He never deserved most of the criticism he received around here in the first place and a careful read of the article linked in the OP will tell you why.

Definitely a B. He surprised the hell out of me in the playoffs this year. Last year he looked very tentative and over matched. I'd say he was in the top 3 defensemen for the playoff run (Doughty/Mitchell).

Solid B, Muzzin was nails in the playoff's. I think he only had one off night.

The first three games of the SJ series, Muzzin/Drew were the only pairing holding their own.

That hit on Kruger.....My goodness was pretty. I remember last year Muzzin flattened Toews like that too.

You wouldn't know funny if it smacked you in the face. That was some good stuff right there.

These boards need jokesters because some people take it waaaaaay too seriously, right Froot Cake?

If I want comedy night, I'll go over to LGK.

A. If in the future he made the Canadian National team as an alternate or something, it wouldn't shock me. If you can play top pair PP or 5x5 like a pro in the playoffs, especially the Final, as a sophomore, that's something special.

I mean, right now I wouldn't trade him for Zach Bogosian.
