That first thing is the thing dampening my faith. He doesn't have a NMC. No NTC. No nothing. He didn't even have a contract this summer.

They made the clear-headed decision to bring him back and put him back around the neck of our best player.

They gave him a 1 year deal to walk him to UFA. Bringing him back wasn’t so much the issue as continuing to play him as a top 4 guy. Drury needs to talk Laviolette’s toys away.

Let us not forget that Henrik was prone to giving up soft goals at the wrong time as well. I remember seeing pages vilifying him for it (especially if we lost -- in particular, a 1-0 lost to Montreal in the playoffs comes to mind).

The one that sticks with me is coming back to tie that game in Tampa 5-5 and then Kucherov beats him clean with a shot from Saturn.

Love Hank, but all goalies kinda suck sometimes. That's why you don't pay them.

Not me. Hank would turn the lights off in teams in the biggest possible moments. How many Herculean efforts did he have in Game 6s & 7s. The Rangers won 2-1 games for a decade with him in nets. His accountability wore on his teammates after awhile and we’ve never recovered. Henrik was the one guy who would call people out in the room. His temperament is sorely missed.

Even being an ex-goalie, I have to agree with you. Over the years of playing and watching, I have been flabbergasted at some of the goals that have gone in. It's an occupational hazard native to the position.

Uber talented can have stretches of being unbeatable but never fails to let the team down, no matter what. The team is in a funk and this was his chance to steal one and he absolutely shits his pants. The waste of talent makes me f***ing loathe him.

I'm not denying any of that. But you just can't ignore the fact that he gave up some extremely bad/poor goals at inopportune times.

I have a hard time believing so many players all went to absolute shit at once. Lindgren deteriorating okay yea we all kind of saw that coming though not this dramatically. Trouba kind of the same though he started the season okay. But troch? Bread? Miller falling off the extent he has? Mika literally falling off the side of a mountain?

Something else is broken here and I’m not sure what it is but I really don’t buy that this many guys all got this bad after starting pretty well.

I will say about Igor post-Penguins series he hasn't had one series where it looked like he forgot to play hockey and Hank had one each playoff year with the exception of maybe 2014. This is why I got on him. And this is a big reason why he never won a cup. Same fate is going to happen with Igor but with way worse regular seasons.
