He will be a decent find on the bottom 6 if he can just put all his tools together. The odds of that though are small

A top-six style player without the top-six ability. Did well in shootouts early in the season, not so well by the end. Best used as an AHL player who can serve as an emergency call-up.

I get it. He's got talent, but will never really fit the Habs. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a solid career with another team, but it won't be in Montreal. Nor would I be surprised to see him never make it.

Kind of where I could see him fitting on the Oilers. We lack right shots organizationally and his speed is eye popping.

He's got fancy nail syndrom.

The team is being built on everyone going all in on 200 ft game and brining their lunch pail.

Ylonen only gave an extra effort if he thought he could score. A 60 ft player.

Bye...

He may have a Fagemo-phase (bouncing around AHL/tweener runs) but ultimately it will be back to Europe.

Not an impact NHL player by any measure, despite the speed and shot. It happens.

I've got some time for him. We need a couple cheap bets and speed. Any Habs fans with some feedback on the guy? I've liked him when I've watched him play.

Ylonen has skills and size but can't put it together.

Not slow but not a speedster.
Not really physical.
Not bad defensively but not good either.
Has offensive tools, but can't score consistently.
Not good enough for the top 6, hasn't yet developped other dimensions to be an effective bottom 6 guy.

Maybe he gets a shot in Chicago or some other places starving for offensive skill.

Him not being re-signed opens a spot for Joshua Roy (most likely), Heineman or Farrell to make the team next year.
