We had a team that was good enough to win but we got stoned and the Finns put up some timely scoring.

Canada showed plenty of heart. Bit of puck luck their way or away from Finland the game would have ended differently. This is bigger for Finnish hockey than it would have been for Canadians. In that sense all is good. Perhaps it's Canada in the next olympics!

Wow I don't know what to say after that game...

I mean I'm pretty happy with the way Canada played, the only real failure was special teams.

Probably the most amazing thing any of those guys (ones not named Kakko) will achieve during their careers, super happy for them. Pretty random selection of guys went on to win the big-ish things.

I thought that Finland was the better team against Sweden and Russia but here in the final they are badly outplayed to be honest. Even then they find a way to get it done. You can't be anything but impressed by that. Congrats!

You're not wrong, but the drop off from Canada's A team to B or C team is a lot bigger than Finland (and a lot of countries) drop off from their A team. Credit to Finland for grinding out the gold though, they played a well structured and disciplined game and their goalie was fantastic. I really wish international hockey would move to NHL sized rinks or at least the hybrid sized ones though. Makes for a much more exciting game. Olympic sized ice is so awful for entertainment value.

Canadas drop off is from say 500 points in NHL this season to 300, Finland is from 350 to 0..

This is a pretty classy take on it coming from the country that hates to lose. Finns went the hard way, KOd the heavyweights and now they're gonna have a well deserved good time.
