Canada showed plenty of heart. Bit of puck luck their way or away from Finland the game would have ended differently. This is bigger for Finnish hockey than it would have been for Canadians. In that sense all is good. Perhaps it's Canada in the next olympics!

You're right, it's more like a C team, but Finland basically fielded a B team so that excuse is a wash.

The Americans and Russians are the ones who should be embarrassed.

You're not wrong, but the drop off from Canada's A team to B or C team is a lot bigger than Finland (and a lot of countries) drop off from their A team. Credit to Finland for grinding out the gold though, they played a well structured and disciplined game and their goalie was fantastic. I really wish international hockey would move to NHL sized rinks or at least the hybrid sized ones though. Makes for a much more exciting game. Olympic sized ice is so awful for entertainment value.
