He's playing fairly well for his standards right now.

"Fairly well for his standard" means that he's only a liability on the ice 2-3 times per game instead of every single shift.

Playing significant minutes in a conference final despite just coming back from injury. His definitely a significant loss for this team. Having said that, he probably wouldn't have accepted an invitation anyway after that injury. He's also not really made for european ice. Still, he'd be able to help that team.
