Actually, I am not very surprised but I was expecting the Swiss to play an extremely very boring defensive counter-attack game. Swiss has surprised me a lot this year, they are looking great, lots of skill.

Is Switzerland missing any players or is this basically the best team they can put together? They have certainly taken huge steps lately.

There are some players absent. Sbisa, Weber and Furrer missing on defense are significant losses. Sutter got sent home for whatever reason. Terrific towering defender. Clearly better than anything in the lineup except Josi, Kukan and Mueller.
Offense is pretty much the best we got. Having Baertschi, Suter or Hischier would help but I'm not sure that would have been enough to win this in 60'.

Some important defenders absent but it's probably still the best Swiss team ever. Players used to decline invitations for world championships in recent years. Now they mostly accepted, for whatever reason.

"Fairly well for his standard" means that he's only a liability on the ice 2-3 times per game instead of every single shift.
