Don't know if you have or haven't but you jumped into a conversation I had with a guy who seemed to not understand this tournament did NOT show the best hockey athletes.

Not sure, haven't been to every country but between USA, Canada, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, England, Netherlands and Germany , Germany definitely takes the cake. It's absurd at times really.

But to feel like this is as legit as a gold medal in a best on best tournament, that youve waited for "this" (what is "this", winning a scuffed tournament?) and that the loss to the czech;s wont haunt you anymore..?

I'm feeling reminded me of that South Park episode, where the Red Wings end up playing a pee wee team for the Stanley Cup, and end up celebrating, falling into parents' arms, etc. Just minus the massacre before. Or at least a different kind of mental massacre.

Most Russian "fans" follow the hockey tournaments as muchs as those German chicks who will get dressed up every four years for the football WC,cause they think it's "cute", so obviously they don't understand that NHLers are missing changes everything

Yeah, I might get back to the nhl this week, maybe. A year ago I said I was going to watch olympic hockey no matter what. I honestly don't know and don't care what happened in the nhl the past 2 weeks. It's been a fun tournament. I have NHLtv now, I won't renew it next year.

Oh I understand it very well I just don't see why that puts Germany in such a better position since players that are playing in the KHL are still not paid with bananas and a lot of Russian players were NHLers or are on their way in the NHL.
