Funny how people are acting like Russia got a literal GOAL taken away  they still would have actually had to score by the way.

Maybe don't blow a 2 goal lead and try not to come unglued at the end

They would have needed to score to tie it, THEN score again in OT to win it.

People are acting like they were denied a legitimate game-winning-goal.

It was a great hockey game. I will not complain about the refs - we lost ourselves. But the game was completely amazing.

Congratulations to Canada - a well-deserved victory, they used all the mistakes of team Russia.

And anyway, I am proud of our team. Our national team showed a very mature and creative hockey. I am still sure that we were better, but we lost today. It is a pity that some hockey players were not able to handle emotions and play in a disciplined manner.

I want to say a big thank you to Valery Bragin. It was a glorious journey. Thank you for all these years when I believed in the victory of our team at any moment of any game. Always, in any match, in the most hopeless situation, it was a real Christmas fairy tale. Thank you very much.
Russia was the better team. Russians should be proud. You played some awesome hockey in this tournament.

Russia was stronger and more skilled but Canada have an incredible ability to win, impressive. They also use all the tricks, like the baiting the russian player to hit the stick and get the penalty.
Russians were a lot weaker other than the huge guy who couldn't skate and are far less skilled

No, not at all. There is absolutely nothing that can take the victory away from you and Team Canada. That said, it was awarded to them by the refs.

Yea you keep believing that.

How many power plays did you guys get awarded for your dives?

Canada, the absolute worst ambassadors thinkable for the sport of Hockey. Cue the arrogant "ITS OUR GAME!" comments.

you ever hear of this country called England(football)? or New Zealand(rugby)? or India(cricket)? or Germany (racing)? or USA (NFL, baseball, basketball, golf, etc.)? or Finland (beating Russia at things)?

For those saying that the puck hitting the camera should have been delay of game, here's what the IIHF rules say:

RULE 135 – DELAY OF GAME/SHOOTING OR THROWING THE PUCK OUT OF PLAY

"v. A player who lifts the puck from the defending zone and hits the scoreclock or any structural object above the ice surface, causing a stoppage of play, will not be assessed a penalty."

The camera was out of bounds. It is not on nor above the ice surface.

Congratulations to Canada! As I mentioned before the game, this game came down to goaltending, and while in many ways it looked like the Russian skaters were better than the Canadians for most of the game, they were sabotaged by their weakness in goal in the third period. Miftakov is a backup who was pressed into service after Askarov's total meltdown against the Czechs, did okay in the first match against Canada (although he wasn't tested), then melted himself with 2 monkey-wheel circus goals given to the Americans. Wait, its not over yet. Then Askarov has another meltdown, and is pulled in favor of...guess who? Miftakov played okay for the first two periods, before melting down in the 3rd. The second Canadian goal was just bad luck, blocked by a defender, caroms off both legs of the Canadian forward, past Miftakov. The tying goal was partially Romanov's fault for not taking away the shooter's angle, but it was a wrist shot from outside that should have been saved. Then the winning goal, which technically wasn't even a shot. He just laid down on his back and watched the game go away!

Overall, it was an exciting game, but with a team with the talent that he had, fans have to wonder how long the RHF can justify keeping Bragin. Its time to move on. The U18 coach, Filatov, should be behind the bench next year. He has some radical defensive concepts for Russian hockey, and the U18 and below teams are accomplishing things they never have before. How could Bragin have not defended a 3-1 lead late in the second period?

But that camera wasn't above the ice surface - in the sense of not being on top it (I guess in English). It was outside the rink even if only just. So I'm not sure how to inteprete that rule. Has this ever happened before?
