puck was already out when it hit the camera. Should supersede that.v. A player who lifts the puck from the defending zone and hits the scoreclock or any structural object above the ice surface, causing a stoppage of play, will not be assessed a penalty.
Apology awaited.
My Lord entire Russian team leaves the ice before closing ceremonies are over, miss the official closing. Oh My God! Just kidding, no problem.
I think they missed a penalty when the Russian goalie went into the fetal position after not being touched. Let's call it even!Again: they made up for that in spades for Team Canada (count the penalties), including the automatic.
With the way the rule is worded, it’s tough to say.It wasn't above the ice. It was BEHIND the glass. Above the ice means in play.
Good tournament, but the DJ played some of the most awful music I have ever heardThe Czech's did a fantastic job hosting the tournament. I really like the atmosphere and the arenas. Really be tough for edmonton and red deer to get close.
That, I would be very interested in knowing. Puck over glass is a dumb penalty but it is never, ever missed, for obvious reasons. I hate that its the one automatic penalty but that's the truth, so to miss that...honestly no idea.
I mean, I don't care much. Happy for Canada... but that puck was out of bounds.. the very camera it hit shows that it was already out of bounds... I guarantee twitter will be loaded with images of that puck out of bounds very soon.
ThisThe delay of game call was a mistake but so was the holding the stick call on Hayton. It goes both ways. The teams decided this game, not the refs. Anyways, congrats to Russia on a hard-fought tornament!
Lolwut? Completely equal situationsI think they missed a penalty when the Russian goalie went into the fetal position after not being touched. Let's call it even!
The IIHF rulebook does say that, but you're arguing it was a penalty?
And Canada still won the Gold.thats a penalty in any game of hockey at any level
Off topic, but yeah, as a Rangers fan I had hoped that his medal tossing was an impetuous act that came from an internal fire burning in him, and that maturity would emerge while channeling that energy for good. Alas, it has not turned out that way. With his level of play with the Rangers, he can't afford the prima dona act. Quite a weird guy, needs a mentor or guidance. He should have held on to that medal. As of right now based on his play he may never wear the Swedish jersey again let alone win anything
The right call was not made as the puck did not hit the camera above the ice surface (i.e. in any area that would be covered if the ice surface was vertically projected). It hit it outside of the ice boundaries.Basically, you don't understand that the game is over, the right call was made and Canada has yet-another gold medal despite a jobbing by the refs in Russia's favor.
But it was fitting because the diving Russian goalie completely goofed on the winner. Justice served in red-and-white fashion.
yah the game should have ended when the Russians scored on a questionable penalty in the 2nd.No, not at all. There is absolutely nothing that can take the victory away from you and Team Canada. That said, it was awarded to them by the refs.
