This is like the movie Rocky IV. Russia's 6-0 victory in the round robin is like Ivan Drago winning the first fight when he killed Apollo Creed. Canada late game winning goal by Thomas is like Rocky knocking out Drago in the late round avenging Apollo's death. Despite the poor and questionable officiating, that was a great game with a great storybook ending. Congratulations Canada on winning the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championship. Give credit to the Russians especially future Habs defenseman Romanov, they played very well throughout the tournament.

The rulebook says that hitting stuff that is hanging over the ice is penalty too, I think it applies here.

To be clear.. it says OVER the ice.. the camera got hit in the stands. Eg. if he backhanded it and it hit the scoreboard above the ice, it wouldn't count.

The camera was behind the glass. The puck was already out of bounds before hitting the camera. It does not change the fact it was delay of game.

Why would I need to do that? There is nothing to say about Russians as they did this to themselves but what I did comment on was some crying about how the Canadians were treated unfairly.

Officiating was not an issue and if the IIHF rulebook says that the camera is infact part of the rink then it was the right call as well.

Russia was stronger and more skilled but Canada have an incredible ability to win, impressive. They also use all the tricks, like the baiting the russian player to hit the stick and get the penalty.

Basically, you don't understand that the game is over, the right call was made and Canada has yet-another gold medal despite a jobbing by the refs in Russia's favor.

But it was fitting because the diving Russian goalie completely goofed on the winner. Justice served in red-and-white fashion.
