Sorry dude, not this time. You got the game gift-wrapped on an automatic penalty.
I mean, Canada did have the lead at that point... gift wrapped is a bit strong.

Russians got robbed of a 6 on 3 .. not a goal.
Everything else was just an unfortunate downward spiral for the Russians (dumb penalty and broken stick)

RULE 135.

Shooting the puck directly out of play is a penalty.
I think the refs might have bene confused about exception V where its not a penalty if its hits an object over the ice surface, scoreboard / ceiling. But that doesn't apply once it has gone over the glass.

As a Buffalo Sabre fan I’m all too familiar with technicalities where an exception is made. I suspect they’ll say the camera is considered in play regardless.

v. A player who lifts the puck from the defending zone and hits the scoreclock or any structural object above the ice surface, causing a stoppage of play, will not be assessed a penalty.

Apology awaited.

So basically you don't even understand what you typed.

I get that the Russian's were screwed out of a 6-on-3 for the final minutes of the game, what I don't get is how that equates to the Russian's being screwed out of the gold medal. The Russian PP has not exactly been lights out dominant, and even if they score...the game is tied. It's not like the Russian's score one goal and it's sudden death and the Russian's win the gold. Am I taking crazy pills?

No that blown call is the reason why Canada came back from a 3-1 deficit earlier in the period
