Both teams put on a great performance in this game and in the tournament overall. Both were Gold medal level teams it just so happens that Canada won this game today.

Difference was crucial moment. A 5-3 with 2 minutes left would have materially changed the game and holds more value than a blown call in the first. Timing matters.
I didn't say penalties did or didn't influence the outcome, I said refs were awful for both teams, so no need to be apologetic, unless your wife's a Russian.

That’s a really tough call, hard to feel good about that in any way if you’re a Canadian. But also, you were still on the PP, maybe don’t turn into petulant children after a call goes against you? I think the problem is there’s too much pressure on these kids in this whole tournament. Russians had a meltdown and lost the game the second the refs blew that call.

Do you like Denisenko?
I liked Jenik, Kubicek and Zabransky.

I was an outsider for this game and happily cheered 2 great teams.

It's not like me not liking Heyton's antics is some hot take... he's up their with Wahlstrom (who I actually really like), Marchand, Perry and Claude Lemieux.

I'm sure he'll be an excellent NHLer where 30 other fanbases will hate him too.lol

I just don’t understand how you messed up a delay of game call so easily. The ref even signalled it right away for 2 min and they ended up getting the call wrong. Feels like a non deserving win.

Good game Russia, you guys are always a tough fight and us Canadians are always scared to face you guys. It’s a heartbreaking loss for Russia, lot of close calls since 2011 but you’ll win a gold soon.

That advantage (1) should've been 6 on 3 and (2) was wiped out by a very dubious "playing with a broken stick" call.

I agree that it should have been delay of game when the puck hit the camera but the broken stick call was correct in my opinion. The Canadian player had possession of the puck and the Russian player knocked it away with a piece of his broken stick.

It might not mean much but congratulations on getting the silver. Russia played really well and was very impressive.

Russians shake hands like adults. Respect. Hayton now smiling cause they won. It would be nice to see if Hayton can behave if Russia would won. Well never know

How did they explain not calling that penalty?

That, I would be very interested in knowing. Puck over glass is a dumb penalty but it is never, ever missed, for obvious reasons. I hate that its the one automatic penalty but that's the truth, so to miss that...honestly no idea.
