Goaltending interference

EMBARASSING refereeing. Geekie takes it upon himself to drive the stick into the pad and completely eliminate Hellebuyck from any chance at a save... No goal, overturned, coach's challenge. They lose, and then TB scores on the ensuing PP... What the actual f***

Sometimes this just feels like game "fixing" and it ruins the taste of NHL hockey sometimes. Almost like you gotta expect these awful calls are coming every game

There is one thing that I can't understand. Geekie is staring at the puck that's sitting there in the crease, but instead of trying to get his stick on the puck he decides to push the goalie's pad? I think it's more likely he lost his balance, not without help from everybody fighting around him. The question is, would it be interference if indeed the push is just him leaning on his stick trying not to fall?

You can't criticize them, otherwise they cry and the league fines you.

But don't worry, they're the best in the business.

f***ing AI could do a much better job than these useless tools

I've always had the impression that once the puck is loose in the crease, it basically becomes a free for all, practically speaking.

This call just reinforces that.

Rightly or wrongly, I'd have been more surprised if they called it back.

if i were to look at it from the goalie interference pov, geekie takes a whack at the goalie pads which is fine. Then he gets crosschecked by 44 into the goalie and 2 falls into him/prevents him from maintaining balance even before 71 comes in therefore making it incidental contact that causes him to push into the goalie

That's not how it went though? Geekie clearly starts to push Hellebuyck's pad before he gets pushed by the Jets player.
i don't know how you can see geekie's stick but not the winnipeg players pushing him in, it's right there on the replay

This.

It's the only logical explanation. Geekie sort of looks like he went for the puck, but missed and ended up pushing Hellebuyck into the net.

One happened before the other. Geekie actually shoved Hellebucyk with his stick into the net. It was blatant. (edit - thought the call on the ice was no goal)
