With Martin Jones now with the San Jose Sharks, J.F. Berube with the New York Islanders and Patrik Bartosak facing domestic violence charges in New Hampshire, the Los Angeles Kings have virtually no depth in goal in their system.
But they did invite former Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens goaltender Peter Budaj to their 2015 Training Camp, and he played well enough to earn a contract with the Kings and is now their number three netminder.
But the path Budaj took to get to this point, especially after a horrendous 2014-15 season, one in which he had clearly lost his way, was not an easy one.
