As a coach, Willie D was able to develop systems, but was unable to adapt when another coach outgamed his system. that Rangers game comes to mind, where AV dismantled his system and Willie could not adjust

Willie's philosophy is fundamentally flawed, but it works well in an 82 game marathon season (rolling lines, Toccs could learn from this, particularly for a team like Vancouver's travel schedule), while utterly failing in a best of 7 playing all games against the same team

Finally, he needed to settle down on the bench. Was too wrapped up in the play, sped it up in his mind making it difficult to out maneuver the opposition

Well the weather is being helpful, because these guys will soon be golfing. Can you imagine sneaking in with this line up and facing healthy Jets.

The usual worst possible scenario. Marginal draft position and no real chance of the playoffs. FFS lets be better next year.

The D is set for years. Demko Lankinan is looking like a good pairing (barring injuries). So where in hell do we find help for the top 6? Thought we were great with EP Miller Boeser Debrusk Garland and Hogs ... etc. Well that fell apart in a hurry ....

That opening line-up pretty much presents what happened to us this season. None of our centers came to play. At least EP showed up. Miller was a straight up mirage. Even the games he played he managed to make little impact outside 3-4 games for 41.

How many teams win as many games without a center as we did this year?

A: Not a lot. It looks dire, but it's actually a good sign.
