Chris Patrick is the GM now.As shitty as the team construction was last year, I'll give GMBM credit for his moves in the off season, he very quickly built a very balanced and skilled team from what was available.

He could become like Orpik for me. Go from a despised opponent to favorite quickly. That speaks to Caps culture, Carbery, or both.
The Hockey Guy will bump us up in his Power Rankings for sure with road wins against Panthers, Bolts and Devils!First in Metro, first in east, second only to wpg in the league
I like our team
They’re only three points out of the wild card right now, and none of the teams in front of them — Rangers, Flyers, Bruins, and Sabres — inspire confidence. You figure the Rangers will figure it out and lock down one spot but that second spot is far from decided. Not hard to see Pittsburgh make noise if Jarry catches fire again.Important standings note: Pitt has won three straight, putting them comfortably outside both playoff contention and lottery position.
Yeah, but Pens have played more games than the other teams you have mentioned. They’re only three points out of the wild card right now, and none of the teams in front of them — Rangers, Flyers, Bruins, and Sabres — inspire confidence. Couldn't be Dubois, I've been assured on the main boards that he's a selfish piece of shit, who doesn't love hockey or like his teammates. So it was probably AI or a group delusion, or maybe it was Mangiapane. What hustle by Dubois!
I don’t think that’s fair. Caps were handcuffed by the big contracts of Backstrom, Oshie and Kuznetsov. As shitty as the team construction was last year, I'll give GMBM credit for his moves in the off season, he very quickly built a very balanced and skilled team from what was available.

I’m glad they didn’t do anything stupid for an attempt at a quick turnaround.
Caps did their homework. We had an assistant coach that PLD played with CBJ's and he's bean teammates with Milano(is there anyone else?). For all things, Carbs is a players coach so he knows how to tap into PLD, plus PLD was a center we needed. One other thing, this team has a history of taking on players that didn't fair well with their previous team.
More Carbs locker room eloquence. Good vibes abound. Doobie gets the gold chain.
