Suzuki is progressing in his overall game. Defensively. He has become a 200ft player. He is very happy with his progression.

Caufield - shooting % is down a lot. They are looking at it.

Lol, I get a 404.

A lot of improvement in the team's 5 on 5 play.

With the amount of injuries the team has had, a lot of players are playing more minutes and bigger responsibilities, which has been a challenge.

Coaches are doing a great job with what they have.

Losing Dach the first period of the 2nd game, losing Newhook, makes it very hard to evaluate them and evaluate other players. Big improvement from Slafkovsky.

Individually they are looking for consistency from the players. Points to Montembault as an example of somebody who developed the consistency.

It was his decision to go with 3 goalies. He did not want to lose Cayden Primeau. If there is a trade to be made, they will make it. The plan was not to go all season with 3 goalies but he cannot promise it won't happen.

(so far its all a repeat from RDS last week btw)

In terms of the defense, the fact that players are developing well in Laval gives him a longer runway to figure out the long term defense situation. They don't have a gun to their head at the moment but if there is an opportunity like Romanov they will do it, but there is no urgency right now because players are progressing well everywhere.

He was asked about having a PPG player etc..

He said he always points out Patrice Bergeron who wasnt a PPG player but is a HOF, so he doesn't necessarily look at it like that. He is looking to "rebalance the ledger" as they have a lot of depth in terms of "B prospects" and will use that to add high end talent.

The words in quotes are his words exactly.

He doesn't like giving "titles" to players because he wants players to continue working hard to improve.

Right now is Montembeault playing like a no.1 goalie? Yes. Does he want all three goalies to play for now? Yes.

Monahan to a long term deal will be his 2nd contract mistake behind Allen

Yeah agreed, but they're calculated mistakes. He gave Allen a 2 year extension because who knew how Monty and Primeau would progress. Yes, it looks bad now, but it's easily fixable and not team crippling considering the term. Hopefully he trades Monahan but if he does extend him, not more than a year or 2 .

Glad to hear that it is the goal. It's obvious but I've rarely heard some thing so specific from a GM.

Hope he can get it done.

Giving the impression/perception that you're considering re-signing him, could give him leverage in trade negotiations.

Pretty sure they have a deal that if a contending team comes with a good offer, they're moving him.

I wouldn't worry about it.
