News/Notes:
  • The LA Kings have clinched a playoff spot for the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs thanks to the Chicago Blackhawks defeating the St. Louis Blues with 8 seconds left in the game!
  • The Minnesota Wild have clinched a playoff spot for 6 years in a row after the Kings defeated the Avalanche on Monday and defeating the Edmonton Oilers.
  • Alex Iafallo did not practice yesterday so its unlikely he will check into the game tonight.
  • Derek Forbort and Jake Muzzin are both listed as week-to-week. John Stevens had hinted at the possibility of Dan Brickley drawing in, but it looks like Kevin Gravel will draw in instead.

I still want to play Vegas over Sharks, but I gotta admit, home ice is very important in the playoffs. I know people like to float around home and road records in the regular season and argue that it's not so important, but matches are crucial in the playoffs and having home ice for game 7 could make the difference. I think Stevens sees that and will prepare the troops to go all out today.

It may very well end up being Ducks-Kings in the first round. Who would have thought.

Not sure whom to vote for. Without any one of Kopitar, Doughty, or Quick, the kings aren't in the playoffs.

I'll go with Bailey. Bailey for president!

Sharks lost 4 games in a row and now we have a chance at the Ducks. Didn't think that would be possible. Guess Kane ran out of goals.

As long as they don't have home ice against SJ. 1-9 in the last 10 in LA, including 3 playoff games. That's just stupid.

This game means nothing to Minnesota. Locked into 3rd in the Central. Back to back on the road. They just want to get out as healthy as they currently are.

Kings need 1 point to ensure staying out of Nashville. Between Vegas, SJ, and Ana, I'm not sure it makes too much difference. Some people are sick of the Sharks in the playoffs, but I enjoy repeated matchups. Not saying they must happen, but I have no issue with them. Some want Vegas because they don't trust them to be as good as they've been, which may or may not be the case.

Find a way to get at least a point, even if it has to be dull and boring, who cares, just stay healthy.

Kopitar is easily my choice. And second is Doughty. Third Maybe Brown.

Damn no updates yet? Boys need to get healthy for the playoffs. Come on

Thought Stevens said Muzzin and Forbort were both out the final 2 games. Or is that not the update you were asking about?

Not sure. All I know is I need caffeine. :thumbu:

F it, win big the next two games, I don’t care about matchups. Would be nice to carry some momentum into the playoffs and have these guys getting their playoff swagger back and hope for a miracle in Pearson and Toffoli catching fire at the right time. Or anyone for that matter, Lewis, Clifford whoever!

Would be nice to have Kopitar/Doughty/Quick/Brown pad their stats.

Brown is 3 points away 60 which would match a career high. Doughty 1 point away from 60 and setting a new career high.

Kempe is 3 points away from 40. Despite the recent critisism of him, 40 points for a 20 year old rookie in the NHL is really good.

I like what Stevens said today about that. Want to polish our game up basically. Making the playoffs is only a start, they're happy, but not satisfied.

Heck, I say give Martinez a rest after playing 32 minutes last game. Let both Gravel and Brickley play. Or at least give Brickley one of the next 2 games. May make him hungry over
Summer to push for a spot September.
