Honestly our PP just looks like everyone wants Hughes to do it on his own. No one wants to do anything but give it back to him. To be fair hes a true superstar and can make things out of nothing, but if Petey and Boes etc did more with it it would make more space for Hughes too. Missing Miller really hurts (even though he wasnt playing well when he took his time away).
yeah they need a 3rd threat here. it used to be that we had hughes, ep's shot, miller downhill playmaking, and horvat in the bumper.

they've been down to two threats for a long time. 3 is good enough if ep can wake up on the pp.

I don't understand why the PP doesn't have Hughes rotating from the point to down low, with other players rotating back to the point, it causes confusion, opens up passing lanes, and requires a phenomenal skater to pull off, and we have that in Hughes.

But nope, we just stand around in the umbrella

For all the yapping about the PP, the PK has been a much bigger issue the last 10 games.

PP has been clicking at ~25% the last bit, but the PK has been sub 80% and not doing a great job of preventing chances either.

I'm not saying we should fire Tocchet but I'm sick of him preaching about good positioning and team defense when we continually get out shot and out chanced every single game. Our defence sucks we can all see that but we knew that going into the season. He's gotta mix something up because what he's doing isn't working. This is not even a playoff team in my opinion.
The fact we’re doing this well with the amount of injuries and complications and situations we’ve had so far, is a sign that the coaching staff is doing a great job not the other way around.

I think the way he’s manipulating the lines are perfectly fine, considering everything that has happened

Let’s just agree to disagree on this one buddy😁

It's the easy thing to do - just pass it to Hughes. But you're right - if the others held onto the puck more and made themselves available for a one timer or pass, the PP has so many more options to make the opponents pay for overcommitting on Hughes.
