Canucks Army has weighed in with the 'Statsies' from last night's loss. As suspected the pairing of Myers and Brannstrom was absolutely caved in. Oh well,.....that pairing was nice while it lasted.

Becoming more convinced that anyone Myers is paired with will sink like a rock. But the options are limited So I guess they throw him out there with Hughes or with Soucy, yet again. Shudder!

I'm not really too worried, as long as Hughes is healthy treading water seems reasonably easy.

Desharnais, Friedman and Forbort eventually, are nhlers and can handle a few more mins, juulsen is okay as an emergency stop gap.

If Miller and demko return within two/three ish weeks and the teams still solid enough to win games, especially until the four nations break where the injured can rest more.

I never really do this but with Hronek out I might stop watching games for a while, at least until Allvin trades for a dman.

(Having said that I’ll probably be feverishly refreshing the box score at work tomorrow lol)

Once again I am forced to wonder what it would cost to get a 50% retained Ethan Bear from Washington. They can't be happy about paying him $2M to toil in the AHL. And if it didn't work out, we could bury him just as easily.

This article basically states the opposite.

I think we'll see a couple of guys rotating with Hughes throughout the game rather than a set pairing. I don't think it makes sense to just put one guy into those minutes.

What? You need to keep reading under the heading of 'statistical musings', "That duo gave up the worst in expected goals against (XGA), with Myers being a team-worst 1.21 and Brannstrom not far behind in second last with 1.13. That duo struggled against the Pens, and that's being generous."

That CA article doesn't leave to much room or misinterpretation.

It’s one game go check the stats on natural stattrick Soucy without Myers and vice versa.

Hronek probably 4-6 with broken collarbone it sounds like.

Hopefully means a Hoglander + for 2nd pair defensman trade soon.

Allvin gets a lot of credit for stuff and rightfully so but he has to wear this one. This defense is dogshit and only 1 injury. This was a miss.
should have went for a top 4 first before signing myers or let him go.

You’re just making up fake places now.

In fairness, I didn’t know it was a place until I moved to the North. I’ve been there a number of times for hockey tournaments for my boys - they have a good arena, some decent restaurants, and their fun Center (bowling and mini golf) is pretty solid, too. Not bad for a town of about 4,000.

No joke. My coworkers make fun of me because I know nothing of Chilliwack and hope. I keep asking them why I should know about two or the saddest places I’ve ever driven through?
How could anyone not know Hope? It's where Rambo First Blood was filmed.

It is actually a nice little town though, nestled between the Fraser River and the mountains. With a nice lake too. On the other hand there's towns like Houston in the middle of nowhere, basically just operates a lumber mill or something.
