How many 100+ pts without reaching 40 assists would there be outthere ?

There is 2:

So that would be all of the 30goals-100points outside those 2, nhl.com filter make finding those easy:

30+ goals, 40+ asssits, 100+ points, you can chang ethe 30-40-100 numbers in the url as pleased, but there is over 280 seasons of the sorts.

No, exactly 30 goals, 40 assists and 100 points. How many of those?

Exactly my thought when Kuch hit 100 assists then McDavid did it 10 seconds later. Scoring is up insanely obviously. 4 in 12 years to now 5+ in the past three.

At quick glance it diminishes how great Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Kane, etc were or it really highlights how good we have it now with McDavid, MacKinnon, Draisaitl, Kucherov. Glass half full type situation.
Huh? You have it backwards. If scoring is so high now, then it diminishes the current starts' achievements and highlights players like Crosby and Malkin.

McDavid hit 100 assists first.

We have our snipers who I'd say are 40 goals plus. 50 goals is the next big milestone. 60+ we get really excited, and 70 is other worldly now.

Assists, its probably that 80-90-100 with 100 being the new holy crap milestone to hit there.

To do both though is truly rare. I only did pace when it was a lockout/covid shortened season and not injuries/missed games:

05-06 - Jagr, Alfredsson
06-07 - None
07-08 - None
08-09 - None
09-10 - None
10-11 - D Sedin
11-12 - None
12-13 - None (Shortened season, but none were on pace)
13-14 - None
14-15 - None
15-16 - Kane
16-17 - None
17-18 - McDavid
18-19 - Kane, Kucherov, McDavid
19-20 - Draisaitl, McDavid, MacKinnon (Shortened season. Drais hit it without needing pace. Mac & McD were on pace)
20-21 - McDavid, Draisaitl, Marchand (Shortened season. All on pace to hit it)
21-22 - Kaprisov, McDavid, Stamkos, M Tkachuk, Gaudreau RIP
22-23 - McDavid, Draisaitl, Robertson, MacKinnon, M Tkachuk
23-24 - MacKinnon, Panarin, Pastrnak, Kucherov, Rantanen, Draisaitl

So what can this be called? It usually is a safe bet to follow MVP votes. Or maybe 50-50 is the tier to look for.
Either I never realized how much better Robertson, Marchand and Gaudreau were than peak Ovi/Sid/Geno

or

there is some serious pointflation going on

In terms of who's done it the most:
  • 12x - Gretzky
  • 8x - Lemieux
  • 7x - Dionne
  • 6x - Lafleur, Esposito
  • 5x - Trottier, Stastny
  • 4x - Jagr, McDavid
  • 3x - Sakic, Yzerman, Bossy, Kurri, Draisaitl, Recchi
  • 2x - Kucherov, MacKinnon, M. Tkachuk, Kane, Selanne, Robitaille, Coffey, Savard, Hawerchuk, Turgeon, Perreault, Rogers
Boring. Yet another statistical feat where Gretzky is #1 by a clear margin.

It's an interesting stat, but it also depends on how high-scoring the league was. (Nobody should rank Stastny ahead of Jagr or McDavid, for example).

The biggest surprises on the list are probably Recchi and especially Mike Rogers.

When I think of Drai, I think more 50-50-100 which he also did 3 times, and is also more impressive.
Thats a better one too and gives the not as playmakey type guys like AO and Matthews a shot to get in.

Call it the "How many of those were secondary assists though" award
Did the years I could find and Leon was the only one who came close to having more secondary than primary. This is a narrative I've heard thrown at Crosby and MacKinnon and so far have not seen the stats to back it up.

What is the plan? Get rid of secondary assists all together?
