No issues with the Flames taking some salary back. Not interested in Hudon though. McCarron is someone I'd be interested in.

First I highly doubt that Giordano is available, even if he was I don't think the Flames/Habs are good trading partners. If the Flames make any moves on the blueline, it needs to be to bring in an Alzner/Hamonic type as a defensive defenseman is the Flames biggest need. Selling Giordano for picks/prospects and mediocre roster players just won't get it done.

Nothing because by all accounts, Giordano doesn't want to waive his NMC. He likes it there in Calgary and wants to play out his contract there.

Sergachev + Pacioretty/Gallagher + does NOT get you someone like 33-year old Giordano. It gets you a legit Top-2 LD.

I meant to say, he is a Top 2, but he's 33 years old. He'll become Markov pt.2 in less than a few years time. His play is slowing down, and this year is proof of it. We wouldn't trade away a great chunk of our future for 3 years of him, with the contract he has.

I was a huge Sergachev fan headed into the draft. He's a beast. If Habs are truly in win now mode, I'd consider a Deal based around Sergachev and Giordano.

That said I'd rather trade Dougie Hamilton for a similar return if it out there.

Your not getting Sergs for either players. If you want Sergs, Habs would want.... idk... nothing is of interest asides Bennet, Monahan and Gaudreau. Maybe Brodie. But 8 years older, so nah.
