Where the hell was Alfie???? Guy was damn invisible.

Nice snipe Gio, and nice to beat Ottawa.

Say what you want about them, the Senators always show up to play is as hard as they can.

Nice win, and on to the next one….
Alfie is trying to buy the team with a group. Pronger as well, with some US partners. Keep Alfie away lol

I'd love for Alfie to take over the sens so he can do what he always does and slaps pucks at the backs of better players and tells the media "We won't win" when the going gets rough.

Alfie was the Jay Cutler of the NHL, complete quitter, hope he takes over that organization and loses to us again in the post season.

A few things. Giordano is turning out to be a great deadline addition especially with Muzzin’s stuttering return to the lineup.

Marner’s tying goal celebration was an awesome spoof on Brady Tkachuk‘s goofy goal celebration.

Lyubushkin’s gaff was more of bad puck luck than bad position or blown coverage. Still, these are things that can lose a game in the playoffs.

I would be lying if I said goaltending is not a concern, but Kallgren came up with the big save when it was needed.

Nylander’s OT pass was a beauty. Nice to see Tkachuk burned on that one.

It's only 3 games but it does look like Keefe is gearing towards playing Liljegren in a top 4 role in the playoffs. He's playing top 4 ES minutes, 2nd PP and playing on the 2nd PK unit. In terms of the PK, he's taken away Lyb's PK time. He even got time in OT today which is new. Interestingly Keefe used 4 defencemen in OT.
He's averaged 19:56 (3rd) total ice-time, 16:53 (2nd) at even strength, & had 2nd most OT time at 0:34. Helps that there's been more special team times than usual these last few games too because he's gotten some solid time there as well.

Now is absolutely the time to start feeding this guy minutes. At the moment he's thriving & it's good for his development & preparation coming into the playoffs. The older D could use some rest as well.

Fwiw 4 of that 92-93 team's wins came in OT, which was considered regulation then. They also had 29 regulation losses to our current 20, with 1 of them coming in OT. And 12 ties.
Thanks. The NHL site shows 43 RW and 44 ROW for that year.

With this win we are third in the league with a .693 win percentage. I thought we’d be good, but this has exceeded my expectations. To do this with sub .900 goaltending makes this even more remarkable. The best part, this is an entertaining team to watch each game. We have to maintain home ice to have any advantage we can against TB.

Confession time (hopefully not jinxing it).

- I was one of the guys that felt losing Hyman means Matthews and Marner will really struggle to get the puck. But as it turns out, based on what I've seen so far in regular season, it seems that Hyman was actually holding that line down in terms of offensive accomplishments. Bunting is doing

Hyman 70GP and 50 points = 0.7ppg at 5.5million AAV
Bunting 75GP and 61 points = 0.8ppg at 950K AAV

As one of the fiercest Dubas critic on this board. Gotta give him Kudos for this! At least, in the regular season Leafs are doing a lot better with Bunting compared to Hyman IMO

Bunting is going warrior mode in time for the playoffs. He’s going to take a beating in front of the net and he’ll love it. I think he’s going be huge for that line.

I recently said Bunting was hitting a wall. I'm glad he's making me eat crow.

i'll also confess , i knew the great Zach Hey-Man was bringing that line down , he's a 12-14 min a night bottom 6er who killed offensive opportunities and clogged the net front which took away scoring chances for M and M

M and M could always retrieve their own pucks but they don't have to retrieve as many since they don't need to dump the puck in like 10 thumbs had too

also Dubie tried to re-sign him , luckily he left himself with so little cap he can't f*** up by grossly overpaying slugs like Hyman

That was a pretty good game couple of come backs and an OT win.

I did not get in from shop till 930.
Had the game on PVR.i watched it all
including hate watching the habs.
I was tired but watched another 1/2 program.

Woke up this morning and could not remember who won the leafs game.watched the hightlites Oh yeah Goi in over blue line.

I read some of the sens board to see what they thought of the game.

Thought I had a hard time

"houghts from being at the game:

Leafs backup goalie sucks, but was a rookie. Once Campbell was swapped in the game was pretty much over, the leafs had long stretches of control. Most of the game seemed like a leafs power play,"

You said four wins were in OT, but nhl.com says one.Where did you get your number?

Ah....looks like I clicked on the 93-94 game log by mistake.

The 92-93 game log does indeed show that they went 1-1-11 in OT in 92-93.

My bad.

So in regulation they went 43-28 that year compared to 41-20 so far this year.

Two points is two points.

I felt like we came out guns blazing. But then the first goal was very deflating to the team and it also energized Ottawa.

I also felt like Ottawa played man to man the whole game. There was practically zero room out there. Kinda like the playoffs eh? Good thing we came out on top barely considering we were playing a bottom feeder team.

Imagine playing a experienced team like Tampa? Yikes.

Hate to sound like a doom and gloom guy especially since they played so well against Washington.
have you seen them play against the best teams though? its like a different team. ive come to accept that we play down to bad teams, but we also play up to the best ones.
