Historically, they´re our kryptonite, sure. Although this applies more to the men's category, we can win over them in juniors.

Hate the announcers for this game, they make it seem like Germany is much better than this Latvian team. When in all honesty, Latvia has the better team. Germany even lost to this Latvia in the pre tournament games.

As a German, I knew this game would be tough can’t believe Gord Miller and Mike Johnson are belitting Latvia like this.

This wont happen. They are +3 currently, while Germany is -2, while Latvia -1 (with the current 3-0 score). If one goes up, the other goes down, and they both cant outperform Finland.
Finland would loose a tiebreaker with Germany, but this wont happen - Latvia is playing their last game, and cant get more than 3 points.
Finland goes to the playoffs regardless. Latvia goes if they win today in regulation and Finland gets at least a point. Latvia also advances if they end up with 3 or more goal win, in this case Finland does not matter. Germany advances if they get at least a point today or tomorrow against Canada.

Kokko was just flat out bad against Germany in my opinion, most of the goals were really weak. Finland flat out was the better team, but Germany made the most of their chances and the goalie kept them in it.

They don't know a thing about Latvian hockey, which would not be that bad, if they weren't making stuff up. The whole tirade about leaving KHL as a major blow to Latvian junior hockey was repeated twice and it literally could not be further from the truth. That whole system produced like 1 or 2 national team players during its entire existence. Leaving the KHL has been a major boost to Latvian hockey at all levels, with almost immediate results.

We're not scrambling to rebuild our programme, it's never been at a better state than now.

So, yeah, it is annoying listening to them as a Latvian fan.
