Are you sure? I thought the cut off date was September 15th, and unless I got the wrong birthdate for Christmann that would make him 2017 eligible.

You are right, Maverick.

Also, I was at both Krefeld-Mannheim games this weekend. Went home really disappointed after the first game because none of the NHL draft eligible guys looked even somewhat promising. But that changed in game two. I really liked Stachowiak in the second game. He isn't a great point producer, but I think his style would translate really well to the North American game. Really hard worker who plays with some grit and is incredibly hard to knock off the puck. I kind of question his hockey sense at times, but he is definitely one to keep an eye on this season.

Thank you very much for the report. Always nice to hear from people who actually watched the kids play.

Stachowiak reminds me a bit of Eisenschmid. High energy player that buzzes all over the ice.

Over the course of the day I will update most of the stats (DNL, Schüler BL and foreign leagues) except for goalies. I will also update the hights and weights.

If my work allows it I will try to update the stats for the other leagues as well, but I won't be able to get to the goalie stats until next week.

I noticed Eliteprospects is adding a lot more Germans to its draft center this week, Beck, Eckl, Bokk, Fleischer, and Ugbekile all included.

At this pace I predict Bokk as a 1st round pick in 2018.

No doubt that he won't be drafted, highly skilled, and works really hard. The best part about him is that the few times I watched him he tries so hard to get the puck, and be part of the game. Would like to see more games against harder competition with him. He should be going to N.A. next year, where I'd like to see him use his skill against harder opponents. At this point I don't know if he is a first rounder, but could definitely see him as a 2nd-4th rounder.

Thought this was interesting, Tjorben Skibba eligible for 2019 played a couple games in the Oberliga. I feel a team like Wedemark just plays there best player from juniors when injuries arise. I still think it's interesting he is playing.

1a and 7 shots today in 5-1 win against Eisbaeren Juniors.

I am going to the same game tomorrow. Will report my impressions afterwards.

Just got back from the Eisbären Juniors vs Kölner Haie U19 game.

Köln won 3-2 in overtime. Dominik Bokk had 2 goals including the overtime winner.

To summarize my impressions of Dominik Bokk:
WOW WOW WOW!

After following his stats in the last couple weeks, I imagined that he was going to be good, even though he is only 16 instead of 18-19 like many others in the league.

He had my jaw dropping a couple of times especially when he was comming from the left side and just stickhandled and walked through the defenders (he scored the opening goal that way).

He looked decently sized and was buzzing all game. A pretty good skater who was constantly moving his feet.

His wrister is excellent. On a powerplay he hit the far post on a rocket wristshot.
His slap shot needs more power and accuracy imo, but he is still young.

He was pretty aggressive on the forecheck with his stick. His physical play needs more work, even though he got into a mini-scrum with Bölke from Eisbären, who is a giant.

The overtime winner was just unreal and looked like a McDavid lite. He got the puck in the neutral zone and skated a little towards his own goal, took a turn and then just blew by the defenders after he found an open lane.

His on-ice vision looked real good to me whenever he had the puck.
However I saw him at least twice, where he needed way too long to collect a puck, that was rolling around the boards. In these situations he always almost waited for a whole second and then it was too late to get to the puck in time. Pretty weird but maybe nothing that happens regularly.

Other than that, Bokk really stood out to me, best player today.

Other players I liked in todays game:

Nicolas Appendino (Köln): Unfortunately a really undersized defender with very good skating and puck moving ability. Should make a strong PP quarterback.

Brian Bölke (Eisbären):
Like I said earlier, a giant defender. I am little surprised by just checking his stats, because he showed really good offense today. He always got the puck on the net and even scored a goal when he attacked the net. I remember a very nice cross-ice saucer pass from his own zone directly to the stick of a forward at the blueline.

Tom Knobloch (Eisbären):
Very good stickhandler. Every time he touched the puck something good happened.

Thanks for the report! I definitely agree he's extremely talented, but I'm a little surprised about the jaw-dropping moves part. He never showed much creativity when I saw him play, especially when he went up the left boards like you described.

I don't know, it was the first time I have seen him play.

I remember at least four times where he just walked through his defender at the left wall, like they weren't even there.

I am still trying to think of a NHL player that could be a good comparison...

Edit:
Btw are there video highlights somewhere? Would love to see the overtime winner again. Hope it is as good on video as it felt in live action.

I forgot about one bad play from Bokk that I noted in my mobile phone...

Köln was on a 3 vs 4 shorthanded situation. Bokk covered a man at his own blueline while the puck was in the Eisbären zone which were in puck possession. For some weird reason Bokk decided to go for a change to the far bench and left his man totally uncovered.
Luckily for him the breakout pass missed the recipient.

Maybe general awareness could be improved :)

Not that I'm aware of. I think Jungadler Mannheim are the only DNL team that has any video footage available, because their games are available at sportdeutschland.tv.

Sometimes people who attend the games post videos on youtube that they shot with their phones or something.

Since I'm not on facebook, twitter or any other social media and don't visit those sites, I don't know if any teams post videos there.

A more defensively aware Patrick Kane?

Not really any highlights, if it's not in the playoffs there won't be anything.

Speaking of social media... On Facebook, Jungadler appears to be participating in some sort of tournament in Boston. They beat the Junior Bruins yesterday, and Yannik Valenti scored. Wish I could find some sort of schedule or boxscore but I can't find it anywhere.

I take that back

Bokk Goal's at 21:15 and at the end of the stream

Great find Munchkin10!

Goal1 seemed to be his signature move of the day.

Goal2 I don´t know why the announcer says "Palka", it was definitely Bokk who scored.

Hit the post @ 14:31 (impossible to see :) )

Bad change @1.05:37 Not as bad as I remembered but still questionable...

I actually saw that stream live for a couple of minutes but turned it right off because the quality sucks.

Regarding the goal, I've seen Bokk play in four (?) games so far and I can't remember him making moves like that frequently. It was always that "he has so much skill and is such a good skater but man, he's struggling."

Is it possible, that it was a pre-tournament game? Because I could only find a tournament with Mannheim in the Boston area, starting on October 27th.
It's called the Beantown Fall Classic and theoretically there should be information available at www.nes.com, but so far I cannot get a connection to that site.

I found a link to the schedule here.
Note: When you click on the link to the schedule on that site, it'll start a download of an excel sheet, which is the schedule.

Mannheim appears to be playing the following games:
2016-10-27 vs. Toronto Marlboros
2016-10-27 vs. CT Rangers
2016-10-28 vs. Buffalo Regals

They just recently put in that schedule because it wasn't there yesterday, and yes it was pre-tournament. This is a great chance for Valenti, Eckl etc. The scout list for this tournament has a lot of reputable scouts.
