Marvin Ratmann was my No. 1 going into the season but is really struggling to get going after the season. Even now that he is playing on the first line with Bokk.

On the bright side, I'm really starting to like Dani Bindels. Only question mark is his hockey sense -- and that's always a big one.

Yeah those are the most talked about prospects from that age group. Did you see Schumacher play? He is another exciting prospect from that team.

I saw Schumacher a few times in Krefeld. One of the standout players on a weak team despite his young age. Quick skater who constantly tries to make something happen offensively.

Krefeld seems to have a few good ones coming up with Schumacher and Shevyrin (both 2001) and Stützle (2002).

2000´s and 01´s

Hello Guys, I´m new at this forum but I watch german youth hockey for 4 years. I live near Krefeld so I watch many games of the teams around.
Here are my reports on the best upcoming german players:

2000´s

Nikita Alexandrov: He has possibly the best hockey sense I`ve ever seen. He is scoring in every game I watch. He isn´t fast and hasn't got the best shot but still great to watch.

Dominik Bokk: I don´t know how to write about him. I have seen him very often on the ice, he has a great shot, unbelievable hands and is hockey sense is good. Also his defensive work seems to get better. But he looks like he is struggling in the las 5-6 games. Bokk has got much potential, I hope he will get to his best shape as soon as possible. But still the best 2000´s on my list

Tim Fleischer: Very strong player who always tries to use his teammates. All in all a great player who always gets something going in the offensive zone.

Yannik Valenti: I really like to watch him play. Valenti is a pretty fast forward who has got a really good shot. Actually can't find big negativ sites on him.

2001´s

Nino Kinder: This weekend was the 2nd time that I saw him play. What I saw looked good. This kid has pretty good hands and a good placed shot for his age. He works pretty much defensively. He looks weak when you compare him to other players his age. Is playing power play and penalty kill as well. Had pretty much ice time.

Manuel Alberg: To be honest, I have never seen such an fast kid this age. His hands are good and he also has a very placed shot. His shot could be a bit harder. But still definitely the number One of 01´s. If anyone of you is wondering why he isn't scoring in the DNL here is the reason. He played 4th line this weekend and had maybe 15 minutes ice time at the two games against Berlin. in both games he didn't played the last period. Can´t understand this decision of the coach. I hope that this is going to change soon

Tommy Pasanen: Very Tall defenseman who can use his size in the game to protect and play the puck. He has got a great shot. His hands are the only bad thing, has to work on this. He also plays great cross ice passes to his teammates.

Jan Schumacher: He is the best 01 from Krefeld but still i don't like him that much. He has got good speed and his sense is pretty good but thats it. His shot isn't good and his hands too. Has got pretty lucky with the puck the last games.

I think these two ages got many good players but those who I have listed did really sticked out to me.
If you have questions to me feel free to ask them

While he doesn't have the best shot/hands, I liked him as a play maker. The kid is very creative with his teammates. First time I was able to see him, he did a marvelous no look back hand pass from behind the net to set up his teammate. Excited to hear about Nino Kinder, hopefully he gets more playing time.

I was at the Krefeld-Düsseldorf game last night and really liked Darren Mieszkowski. Not at NHL draft level, but he's got the tools to be in the DEL in a few years. Does anyone know if he's Mike Mieszkowski's brother? EliteProspects doesn't list them as brothers but the Mieszkowski name isn't all that common and both are in Krefeld.

Jan Schumacher was checked head-first into the boards and after a few minutes on the bench left to the locker room. Hopefully nothing serious.

NHL Central Scouting has Reichel ranked 90th among international skaters.

Scouts must like the blend of size, vision and puck skills. But I really don't see NHL upside in him unless he really improves his skating. Working harder would take him a long way too.

Stachowiak has impressed me more. Better skater, great two-way ability, scoring touch and solid hockey sense.

Hey man draisaitl was supposedly slow too. :D

Honestly speaking though, I'm not that surprised, hasn't looked that impressive. Hopefully he can show a bit more the next half of the season.

Gawanke was placed very poorly, 200th on the N.A. skaters. I think he could've been at least 100th. Found this interesting chart on another forum, highlighting his play.

Yeah I saw that on twitter earlier, nice article. Hope it works out for him.

He did say he has good vision and playmaking skills, but needs to work on his skating. Realising that (or accepting it after the coaches told him) is the first step in the right direction. Skating is something that can be improved, hockey IQ and raw skill are much harder to teach.

Bokk got some recognition, and surprisingly not on these boards.

Name: Dominik Bokk (2000-02-03)

H/W: 5’11/154lbs

Nation: Germany

Team: Kolner EC (DNL)

Stats: 19GP-9G-19A-28Pts

NHL Draft: 2018 Eligible

Notes: High end skater with an outside wrist shot, lacks size but makes up for it with skill and quickness. Putting up impressive numbers in the German league.

Pretty sure those guys have no idea who Bokk is and just go by stats, but I'm also sure Bokk is on CHL clubs' radars. Would he succeed in the CHL? Possibly. But I think he might struggle a bit physically and with the pace of the game.

WHL scouts I've talked to seemed more into Valenti, but I'm not sure if he's ready for the CHL yet.

Possibly, I'm not that good at gauging how good players adapt to Europe to the CHL/USHL. I do think he needs to get bigger, but he already has good talent.

He'd definitely need some time to adapt but I think he'd be able to play a decent role on a CHL club.

I would start taking Eckl a little bit more seriously as well. He has impressed me in recent games...
Haven't liked him too much in most viewings. Often tries too much and has questionable hockey sense. Skill and skating are there but I'm not sure if that's enough. You'll see him skating with the puck with a teammate all alone in front of him waiting for a one-timer, but he'll wait and wait and wait and eventually play a pass back into traffic.

Looks like Bokk is heating up a little again. 12 Points in last 6 games. Good to see.

First period against Krefeld last night was the best I've ever seen from him. Ratmann really impressed there as well; getting back up to speed after his injury.

Bokk 4g 1a today.

1st rounder ;)

In that game, 8 of 14 goals were scored on the power play. Of Bokk's 5 points, 4 came on the PP, only one goal in even strength.

Unusually high numbers, but as important as successful special teams are, I wouldn't put too much stock in power-play points.

I want to count even-strength, power-play, shorthanded goals as well as primary vs secondary assists for some players (Bokk among them). No idea if or when I'll find the time to do that, though. If any of you are bored, I'd love to see a finished list! ;)

EDIT: Just remembered, in Friday's game vs. Krefeld, Bokk had two one-timer attempts on the PP and missed the puck completely both times. That's something I've seen from him and also Valenti many times. The timing just doesn't seem to be there.

Still not much of a Schumacher fan either; at least not yet. Had a great give-and-go vs. Cologne on Friday to score the 1-1 goal, but that was it.

Yeah I don't think he is great all around, but I like his vision and passing. Hopefully he can grow other parts of his game.

I'll gladly do the second half of the season if someone does the first.
