Aaron Rodgers or other free agent to Seattle, I am thinking, as a stopgap while a rookie develops, must be the play here. I am glad to see Geno moving on as he is a B quarterback who is incapable of playoff success.

Excellent move for the Raiders. This was always a good possibility but I figured they'd have to give up at least a second.

The thing I love the most as a Vikings fan is that I don't think Seattle does this without basically having Darnold locked up thanks to the legal tampering. The JJ era can begin.

Wait what?

This came out of nowhere

But maybe the DK trade request makes more sense

I'm glad they aren't going to be signing Darnold now but I don't like giving up a 3rd for Geno. He's just a stopgap so why not just sign a guy to a one year deal instead.

I don’t know about this though

All about the guaranteed money vs AAV. Probably structured to have to keep him for 2 seasons. LV is eating dead cap in ‘25 for 2 former QBs in Jimmy and Minschew. Like $20 mill for them if they eat all of minschews dead cap in 2025.

welcome to seattle sam darnold

and welcome to minnesota aaron rodgers
There is no way the Vikings should do that. I dont see why they would. Bring in a veteran to compete with McCarthy. Aaron isn't good enough to warrant the circus he brings, he should retire so he finally focus on his true passion of advising the public on health and safety issues.

There's not a chance in hell they bring him in. Anyone who seriously thinks that is dreaming although to Vikings fans it's more of a nightmare. He's a washed up clown who's a detriment to any team he joins.

Arch Manning you’re a Seattle Seahawks
I don’t see Arch leaving Texas as a 1 year starter. Peyton and Eli both stayed in college for 4 seasons. He should get in enough reps to be ready to go once drafted. Recent history over rthe past dozen to 15 years not kind to 1 and done college starters.

It’s a strong DL draft so I think that is the focus on this draft. Have to improve the IOL. Do they have the talent on the roster? They don’t appear that they are going to go and get temp starters.

I don’t see Seattle taking a QB in Ed 1 unless they trade up to pick 30-32 to secure 5th year option which they’d probably want if they are going to sit the kid as a rookie. Give him 3 years of starting before you have to make a decision on a contract.

Rodgers to Minnesota is a must.

Do people forget about McCarthy or think he is already a bust or something when they suggest this and not in a tongue-in-cheek way?

Rodgers makes no sense at all.

They're going to bring back Daniel Jones or sign Garroppolo or someone like that as insurance.

McCarthy was tracking to beat out Darnold if he doesn't get hurt last year. Only way he wouldn't have is if they were going to be extremely conservative with him. The meniscus is repaired and is fine now. This wasn't a Teddy Bridgewater injury or even an ACL tear.

It'll be JJ's job to lose. This was everything they planned for with the rookie QB contract and aren't going to abandon it now.

Rodgers is just a talking point in the media for attention. Vikings aren't about to inject that poison into their organization.
