Providence Bruins General Discussion thread ‘24-‘25 II

Old time vet? Nonsese. Both of them are tweeting from the comfort of their couch.
Unless he is at the rink, Divver is on his lazy boy in full recline mode. His live podcasts with Hags crack me up. His screen etiquette is the same as my dad's. Terrible lighting. Unflattering focal point shooting up at his jowls... The man couldn't care less about his public image and I am here for it. Agree with him or not - his concerns about the lack of durability/physicality have been valid so far.

Gotta love the old time vet telling the millennial / Gen Z tweeter to put your big boy pants on in the play-offs
No kidding.

There's a thread on the main boards asking if this years' playoffs are "too violent". I worry for the world.

Meanwhile, Poitras sure does seem to eat hits. Kind of like Carlo in earlier days. Always seems to put himself in a position where he gets mashed. Don't know how you fix that, but it has to be fixed.

There is no hope if "fans" consider this playoff violent.

you should see my group chat filled with Leafs fans.
Panthers ECHL team should be playing with the amount of suspensions they want lol

Regarding to the hit. Unfortunately Poitras doesn't seem to get the message

What message? Two players going for a loose puck that neither are really close to and the player closest to the puck decides to slam the breaks on hit the other player rather than continue to pursue the puck, text book interference. Is Poitras suppose to anticipate that?

If there is one criticism of Poitras is that his skating stance is leaned over which exposes his head more, but I don't think that is fixable/changeable.

The message is to not put yourself in vulnerable positions to get get hit high or to get hurt.

I agree with you on your last sentence and because of this Poitras is trade bait for me. Unfortunately it seems that with the way he is playing he will be injured a lot of times. Anaheim saw that with Kase and moved on from him despite him having good numbers and playing well when healthy.

Skating is always fixable. We've seen it countless times. His skating stance coming out of junior was like Mitch Marner and the Leafs fixed his, but it took time.
