I think they could make it but they lack the depth necessary to be a threat. Aside from that big winning streak a month ago, have they strung more than 2 wins together all season?

We're here today and it's never been more clear than this moment that this team isn't making the playoffs - Much less getting light years near a Cup.

Sitting Nelson/Palmieri protects the team (as does trading them). For Lou to not do that is a fireable offense - Even if they don't get injured tonight.

The Preds sat out Nyqvist. The Rangers say Reilly Smith. Neither are as close to as valuable as Nelson. Why did their GMs know how to protect their franchises?

The only logic reason for Nelson is they want to give him 1 last game especially cuz he just hit game 900
