Psyched for the ref blaming to come.

Leafs without Matthews and once again this team scores ONE goal, the special teams pathetic again, Pelech takes and obvious/mindless penalty, and yet...The refs.
I can’t believe the cliff that Pelech has fallen off of. His decision is making is horrible. He makes huge errors at super important times of a game. He can’t be relied upon anymore. He needs to sit for cholo. And they need to waive him. He’s that bad.

When are the special teams coaches going to be fired? I don't care if people are going to cry that they don't matter and it's all on the players. Is it because they're both former Devils and have a previous relationship with Lou? How is it fair to Roy that he can't pick his assistants? At least try something to turn this season around.

Nothing is going to turn around until a failing President/GM is removed so every important aspect of the organization isn't controlled by one overrated sports dictator.

100%. No matter what Lou does this team always lols the same. Doesn’t matter who comes in. Coach, player. It always comes back to this. Until new ideas are brought it this is what the team is.

It’s the concussion cliff.

It doesn't matter. They're not leaving before FA anyway. Lou undoubtedly views this kind of game as a reason to buy, not sell.
I’m not convinced of this. This team will likely be double digits out of a playoff spot by the trade deadline, you would think even Lou has to recognize it’s time to sell the UFA’s.

Why do we need to *hope* the GM does the obvious/smart thing.

Can't we just find someone who we don't have to worry will just do the obvious/smart thing?

My actual hope is for a new GM, but there’s been no indication from this ownership that Lou is on the hot seat. Again, one would hope they are on top of this, but that’s how bad things are here - we have to hope our owners are paying attention and/or hope our GM has enough sense to see what is blatantly obvious.

Not sure I would wave him, but your right his play has fallen off a cliff. Maybe its injuries, doesn’t matter he’s not what he was.

Have you been watching the past two months. No competent GM should be giving up a first or a top prospect for either Nelson or Palmieri. Lee maybe, but I doubt he gets moved.
Nelson is the top UFA free agent center in the market, there will be five teams at least that will give a first rounder for him. He also scores in playoffs, plays in all situations. He has completely stopped scoring but isles will still get value for him especially at a 3 million cap hit. Palmieri too, maybe it’s a 2nd and 5th but again a guy who plays hard and scores in playoffs for a 2.5 cap hit. I also think they’d get a couple picks for Pageau if they retain salary. Lee is interesting, trade him and it’s a complete leadership retool but this is an ode to Lou in that it won’t be handled like Drury handled Trouba. They could approach him and see if he is interested if there is team out there that wants him and can win this year or next.

Not sure I would wave him, but your right his play has fallen off a cliff. Maybe it’s injuries, doesn’t matter he’s not what he was.
I mean I thought he was off to good start and then he got hurt. I thought tonight was his best game since he came back. He’s not same guy he was but if he can be guy he was at start of year he can still be a 2nd pair guy.

The PP looked better and the PK looked better....and yet both failed again. Miserable.
If I wanted to rely on someone not taking a scoring chance and my life depended on them missing, it'd be hard to choose between Horvat and Barzal. Probably Bo as he just has a wonderful knack for failing to convert.
