First impressions before all the snub complaints come is I like the variety this year. It seems like the entire tv landscape is represented and shows that are top favorites are getting nominated. Also I know she won't win but I'm glad Tat got another nomination this year. She makes Orphan Black such a great show and she has a phenomenal season.

So many nominations for Homeland. I thought Season 4 was better than 5, but very happy to see it there. Rooting for Kyle Chandler to win Best Actor. He was fantastic in S2 of Bloodline. That episode where Diana finds out what he did... phenomenal. Is there a place where we can find the episodes that they submitted?

Could be one hell of a year for FX. American Crime Story is going to take most of the Limited Series categories and The Americans stands a fighting chance of Best Drama.

I can't speak for the other nominees, but as far as GoT goes, Dinklage over Harington? Harington did 10x more heavy lifting this season.

Yeah, I'd agree...and that's not meant as a slight towards Dinklage, who I think is one of the best actors on the entire series (through all of its run). But Harington just had a lot more work this year, and as you said had more heavy lifting this season.

Dinklage's nominations are reputation nominations at this point. I don't think his work has been particularly noteworthy since Season 4. Not saying it's bad, he's still great, but not like his prior work.

Yeah, I suppose after thinking about it a bit more, I'd give the nod to Harington over Dinklage as well. Like you said, this was Kit's season from beginning to end in many ways.

Kit Harrington really improved over the years. He was kind of just above average before season 4 of GoT, but I think he's made some big strides. Jon Snow is one of my favorite characters, not just on GoT but in all of the TV I've watched. Partially because the arc was well written and developed, and partially because Harrington has really added something noteworthy to the portrayal.

Also, Amy Shemer. Lol.

Interesting. A lot of the Gold Derby experts predict GoT for Best Drama. Wouldn't be all that surprising given the final two episodes.

On the other hand a majority predict Peter Dinklage for Best Supporting drama actor and I just don't agree. He had a few excellent scenes, no question (Him and the dragons was one of my favorites of the season, then his negotiations with the masters, the moment where he was named Hand of the Queen was a decent monologue) but he didn't leave the kind of mark that Kit Harrington did on the season at large. Dinklage deserved it most in Season 4 and I still feel he got snubbed by the reputation Breaking Bad pick.

EDIT: Never mind. Most of these predictions are from before the nominees were announced.

You know it won last year, right?

I just figured this is a stiffer pool of competition.

Mr. Robot is getting massive critical acclaim, Better Call Saul a little less so but is still very well regarded. As is The Americans.

Wait a second, would this year have reflected the most recent season of Bates Motel cause what the flying **** if so.

EDIT: Yup, it does. What a crock that Farmiga and Highmore are both left off.

I just want to see Thomas Middleditch win because it would be hilarious to watch.

I don't think he deserves it. He's a funny guy who's forced to play an unfunny character in a show filled with hilarious characters.

I think he's still funny (not compared to Jared, Erlich and Jian Yang) and it's technically best lead ACTOR in a comedy series, not funniest character. He does an awesome job IMO.
