They could’ve and perhaps should’ve won tonight. Regardless of tonight’s outcome, both of these teams are just meh.

I want the Isles to win playing quality hockey. Since we’re not seeing that, I’m not heartbroken about the loss if it keeps Lou from doing something stupid come TDL time.
Can’t win scoring 1 goal a game. Probably won’t win many scoring 2 goals a game.

Things Roy can do:
-Shorten his defense rotation in the last 5 minutes of a 1 goal game to Pulock, Mayfield, Romanov.
-Dress Fasching in place of Martin.

Things Lou can do:
-Bring up Foudy

Not a pretty picture, is it.

No lead feels comfortable (Not that we have had many) going into the 3rd period. The 3rd period is Kryptonite.... I never feel good watching them. Can't believe they are this bad....

This is a team, kinda like Boston that screams out for some sort of roster shakeup trade. I think they will move Pelech as I think he has value and that will open cap space and not advocating for it but they have to think about Dobson right, he is talented but has his warts that keep him from top pair number one guy. He’s pretty soft and doesn’t seem to have the sense that those elite guys have defensively. Nelson and Palmieri are obvious due their contract status. They probably will get more time, try to continue grab points and stay in it as they hope to get Barzal and Duclair back.

It’s been screaming out for a roster shakeup for the previous 2 seasons.

Islanders look like a team that have been really undeserving of playoffs for the past 3 years and have made it in twice because the Penguins and Red Wings choked on a cosmic brainfart
Don't tell the people around here that. Just making the playoffs is and has been the gold standard for most of the fans on these pages for as long as I've been looking at them. It's organizational, from the the very top down to the people who post here. Being actually good and, god forbid, at least somewhat entertaining to watch matters not at all. The most plain vanilla franchise in hockey.

Another thing Roy can do is sit Cholowski and dress Hutton. Cholo, like Aho before him, doesn’t spur enough offense to justify keeping him in the lineup and he’s too slow to defend in the big leagues. I trust Hutton more in the D zone, and since we’re not scoring I’d rather have a better defender on the ice.

Since i've started my job, i have completely forgotten the Islanders. is that good? Nah. But it sucks because I don't WANT to attend games. I legit just dread a third period now because this team makes it so hard to win games. the most pathetic part is that the NHL rewards this garbage, because why have a 3-2-1 system when we can just use a shitty 2-1 system and make overtime games get rewarded with loser points that reward loser teams like this.

I think they will struggle to trade Pelech. He has a NTC this year and MNTC for the rest of the contract. Makes almost 6 mil for another 4 years after this one. He’s been basically out played by a rookie and journeyman AHLers. I don’t see much of a market.

I think Roy likes he’s D to handle the puck. They transition so much better now then under Lambert. If you play Hutton you are back to 4 one dimensional dmen who struggle to move the puck. I think he wants to go the opposite way. More dmen that can transition. Skate. Move the puck. And hopefully drive some production. Not shot blockers who just fire pucks around the boards. That’s Lou/Barry world.

George needs to sit next game. He’s over confident. Seems to be all over the place in the D zone
He got burned today

We will see but I think there is market for Pelech, he was playing much more like himself before he got hurt. He’d waive the NTC I would believe like most players would for a better situation. It’s moot right now as we have no idea how long he is out and whether he is even coming back but I do think if he comes back healthy isles could find market for him.

I don’t think there’s really anything left to say about this team that hasn’t already been said. I suppose it’s possible that getting people back from injuries may help a bit, but this team is basically unwatchable at this point

They've pulled this act so many times now that when Raymond scored I laughed and wasn't even fazed.
