And the ********* week in Orlando history just got ********. Sad ****.

An alligator dragged a 2-year-old child into the water near a Disney resort in Florida, the Orange County Sheriff's office said.

The call of the alligator attack near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa southwest of Orlando came in at around 9 p.m., sheriff's office spokesperson Rose Silva said.

As of 11 p.m. the child had not been found. Searchers were reportedly using a helicopter to search the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Unnecessary death of the gator in 3.....2.....1.

Unnecessary death of the gator?

If i was the parent of the child, i would go find the gator myself and stab it with a machete several times until it is dead. I would then cut off its head and kick it into the ocean. I would eat whats left of the gator.

At the news conference that just ended, they said the dad saw it happen and went after the gator, but was unsuccessful. The image that he is going to have in his mind for the rest of his life is awful. So sad

Swimming or not, what was a toddler doing anywhere near an alligator lagoon at 9pm, or at any time for that matter?

Once again, very stupid parenting. :help:

"Relaxing" apparantly.

But yeah isn't that what those overpriced resort rooms are for? The kid should have been in bed.

He wasn't swimming ya mook. And if the alligator isn't killed, the odds he does this again are very high

Agreed. I haven't read the article posted but how are they supposed to know what alligator it was lol? It was previously posted this was on a beach of sorts, so if that's the case I'd imagine there was more than one alligator. If it was just a pond and the alligator was placed in there for "attraction" then this is a major lawsuit no?

Couldn't imagine being from Nebraska and coming to Orlando with 2 kids and only leaving with one.

I heard this morning that when the child got pulled in by the gator, both parents immediately dove in and tried to attack the gator. Ugh...my heart goes out to the parents as they will never be able to forget this and hopefully they can find some kind of peace in the future.
