"Bob Miller was going to cut back this year, at least for this season because of the heart operation he had gone through and somebody told me (the Kings) were looking, and this was months ago, to see what they were going to do that Bob was going to miss (games). And somebody who I know contacted them and said, ‘what about Gary?’ And the next thing I knew we were talking, and that pretty much was it. It was pretty simple once we started communicating with the Kings. We looked at the schedule. It worked and we came to an agreement in a hurry."

In lieu of some of the crappy news we've gotten here lately, this is a bright spot for the team. I've loved Gary ever since I became a diehard in the mid-late 90's when he was a prominent announcer for ESPN.

One of the very best, and many others have already echoed my same sentiments. Great to have you on board, Gary (and your endearing, crooked smile :) )!
