I remember when First Take came to my town for the NBA All star game, they did a topic about Michael Jordan the owner and Kellerman boldly and correctely stated that Jordan was the GOAT of bad owners, and of course the live studio audience in all their wisdom booed, to which Kellerman basically said "You know I'm right".

It's the only time I've ever applauded anything he has said and I would have offered him a safe place in that moment just for having the guts to criticize the native son MJ. Frankly I'm shocked he even bothered to include anything Hockey at all considering he's trashed the sport and not just the league a couple of times.

My respect for Gary has grown so much in recent years. Never used to like him but he's won me over. Definitely done a great job.

I think you have a very clouded and biased view of the general consensus amongst ESPN viewers, and what makes for "good tv".

I'm plenty familiar with Kellerman, but the reality is most people don't give a flying f*** about hockey and in this particular segment, he didn't say anything unreasonable.

The tunnel vision and inferiorty complex hockey fans have when it comes to how the sport is perceived is unparalleled and embarrassing, unlike any other sport I can think of. This thread is perfect evidence of that.

Kellerman does not like hockey. I was a fan of his over a decade ago when he hosted a little noon time radio show in NYC with Robin Lundberg which was awesome but even back then he used to make fun of hockey as being a completely irrelevant sport that no one pays attention to. I haven't really paid much attention to him in the past few years though.

Lol. What. Bettman sucks. And the League hasn’t been doing shit under his watch. They became nearly irrelevant in the US under his watch, with only now the hope is that it recovers. New franchises in non traditional markets still arent really taking off. And he can’t even get his own Leagues rules right.

I saw your other reply. You think the Leagues growth is why Bettman has done well? Any fanbase and Nationall broadcasted sport is going to grow somewhat. You need to compare its growth to like Leagues and other sports to get a sense. With context, the NHL is getting slaughtered. Shouldn’t be surprising since Gary cheaped out and w**red out the NHL to places like OLN and NBC(who could give two craps about hockey).
