Garry Galley and the Winnipeg Jets

It's amazing to watch Garry Galley as a homer for Montreal and Ottawa, but when he broadcasts Winnipeg, he spends most of his time talking about their opponent. It's mystifying that a Canadian announcer on Canadian TV station, subscribed to by Canadians, has such a profound bias against the Jets.

Jets fans generally liked Singh and Garrett in the 1st round, Garrett has been the colour commentator before for the old Jets. You poll Jets fans about Galley and they loathe him. Why force feed fans something they don't want?

Garry Galley should stay out East and if there are no Eastern teams left he should be sent packing. We wanted to mute the game on Sunday, it was revolting listening to him rant about Dallas.

I can't tell you how dumb it is to have your TV littered with bringing the Cup back to Canada ads, meanwhile a paid broadcaster is cheering on an American team. Jets are the only ones that get this. 4 teams have their own SN crews. And Galley being a Montreal guy gets behind the Canadiens.

but the same SN desk which is biased
 
I watched game 3’s highlights from Sportsnet. Was kind of surprised how excited the PxP guy was when the Stars scored.

Galley can be very critical of the habs..........he is an ex bruins guy.
And, no matter who does or doesn't like, he is brutal at it.

The Jets had a great season............The jets have not been good in the playoffs.......it really doesn't matter who the announcer is.
 
When youre used to preferential treatment, equal treatment can then seem unfair. Thats what Jets fans are experiencing.

I watch a lot of random games over a season. The TSN Jets crew is among the more biased around the league. And then they just had Hammerhead Singh for rd 1, who glazes whatever canadian team SN wants him to, to the point where he cant even properly pronounce names of opposing players.

Galley is one of the better announcers in the buisness, and its refreshing to not have a blatant homer calling the Jets for a change

Dude you're literally getting paid by a Canadian Sports Network to do your job. Garrett wasn't a homer, but he knew something about the Jets. When you hear the announcer praising the other team, for a team you are paying to watch, not the goddamn Dallas Stars, it's a joke. I watched Galley do the 1st round for Montreal, and you know what team he focused on...that's right your team, not the Caps. Why? Because he regularly does Habs games. So why send him over here when your team is done. Go back to Montreal Garry.

Anyone that thinks Galley has a history of blowing sunshine up the backside of the Habs is delusional. Forget that he's from Montreal. He bleeds black and gold. He's toned it down, but has a history of utter contempt for the Canadiens.
 
Seems like a standard National broadcast to me, not sure what the issue is. Regional broadcasts can glaze your team but National broadcasts won't.

The entire panel and intermission talk is pumping the Jets every period, so you should be happy about that.

I think at the very least if you are doing a national broadcast you should do so with impartiality.

Yesterday he actually said DeBoer was outcoaching Arniel during Game 3 because he was taking advantage of being able to line match as home team. WTF??

Still better than Healy.

Team A is down 1-0, but dominating at the play.

Healy: Team A has not shown up tonight, they've both given an effort and they're lucky this game is close.

Team A scores 2 quick goals

Healy: Team A has been dominant all night and it was just a matter of time they took over the game on the scoreboard, too.

Galley is very irritating to listen to and rarely offers anything insightful. He just never stop yapping and repeating things. Often times he continues even when play has resumed and is talking over the play by play. In years past I think he had a soft spot for the Sens organization but something happened and now he dislikes Ottawa very much. Bruins are his favourite team you can tell it in his voice.

Galley is beyond awful. He clearly does not like Winnipeg, never has. It would be an interesting exercise in going through each sound bite he has during a game and gaging his bias. I can't stand him
