No shot at McDavid, McDavid is easily in the top 3, but it's his hands and brain that set him apart, his speed although obviously extremely elite is hardly something that others can't challenge him on. There's probably another 10-15 guys in that range, but none of them are even CLOSE to his hands and IQ.
So what? Why is it important? Save it for the all-star dog and pony show! It's not as if top end speed is even the most valuable aspect. Stop and start, acceleration, lateral movement, with or with-out the puck, backwards mobility...there is probably more to add. For me, top end is only interesting when 2 guys are racing for a puck or if one is trying to catch one on a breakaway!
