We need to get younger players we finally got rid of a trash contract In Carter an we pick up another 32 year old veteran 4 liner at a whopping 3 million Pittsburgh also has limited cap space most NHL 4 line players make 775K -1.5 million Pittsburgh likes to pay 3.25 million we have enough veterans over the age of 30 we have 3-4 younger players that could of filled this roll at league minimum contracts #Dumbass

Really thought they would have traded Reilly Smith by now.
Definitely need to especially now since we signed a 4 line player at 3+ million lol what a joke now we only have 7 million of cap to work with I have a feeling it’s a sully trade he’s got a massive hard on for old veterans

Have to assume that at least one of Smith, Eller and Acciari are on the move. If not then it is a pretty crappy retool and an equally crappy rebuild.

The was an article on the hockey news today that said in Friedman's 32 on Friday that buff asked about both smith and eller, as buff is looking for vet players to mix in with their youth in the .middle six, and it sounded like dubas wasnt actively shopping either of them right now.

So is the 3rd line Reilly Eller Hayes ? And what old fossil will the Pens pick up on Monday?
The 4th line should be Hayes eller acari, smith should be traded for scraps, and the 3rd should be made up of younger guys like puusy/doc and actual offensive minded middle six guys like a duclair/domi picked up on Monday.

I think where I'm at is.. still giving these guys two years. Sid (I think) is about to re-sign. We literally just traded for EK. Genos got two years, Letang also. I am ALL for clearing out Rakell, Smith, Graves, Jarry.. yes I know all of that can't happen. Make one last go for broke deal. Marner, Stamkos, etc. Let Pono play. Poulin Pulu, Puustinen. Give Yager atleast the 9 games. They can literally all be in our bottom 6 and we can see what we have there while loading up the top 6. What is Hayes doing? Blocking potential. Why is Jars still even here? Lets run back the goalie tandem whereupon the backup took the starters job.. but we're gonna go back to the 'starter' and pretend nothing happened?

If nothing else.. just making the one move pisses me off. Today was the day to do stuff. Sure I'll wait a few days but its just more of the same. You want to rebuild? Well keep selling. Keep acquiring crap for picks. We do one and call it a day?

People need to realize that a "rebuild" isn't just a "rapid tear down of a roster". Rebuilds are not immediate, they take years to go through. The rebuild literally just started with the Guentzel trade, they're not going to drop a nuke on the team at the start of the rebuild because literally no team does that.

But we’re not. This isn’t rebuilding. Rebuilding requires purposeful losing to get top 5 picks. I’m not sure what the heck this is.
That's not rebuilding. You're confusing rebuilding with the Oilers history.

Rebuilding is using youth, a mix of vets, getting as many picks as you can and leveraging cap space to hoard picks and prospects as sweeteners.

Did we secretly f***ing get Ray Shero back as a GM?

Defense heavy porn of a draft.

They're an absolute shit show.
We could of got tanner jeanot from lightning he was only 2+ mil an well under 30 dubas has no control over sully or his players they control him were on our way to being the oldest team in the nhl !!!!
The Penguins are a rebuilding team, the sooner fans accept that, the easier it will be to come to terms with it.

This team trading a 2nd for Jeannot would have been completely moronic.

Yes which is exactly what the Hayes trade was.

They just need to continue making those kind of moves and do a proper rebuild.

Eller is down to 4c where he belongs and works best for the team.

Smith I don't f***ing understand why he's still there to be honest.

See the Hayes trade has the look of that but we know that it's a player one of the dipshits on the coaching staff wanted vs just being called up and asked if they were interested. Getting a 2nd was just lucky.

Blues desperately wanted him gone. To the point of giving up a 2nd and wanting nothing back at all. Says a lot.

I've pretty much got no expectations now. Time to trade for Campbell and Oilers 1st to get rid of that dead cap hit or other types of bad contracts for picks. Karlsson at 50% for some futures.
