I would imagine that the big 4 play but only on the PP and no PK. They pushed for AM34 to get his 60 and if the boys feel they can push for MM to get 100pts they will let them try.
If the game gets chippie they just don't play.

Holl an extra again for the 2nd straight time. If he is the odd man out, that would be surprising with the minutes he gets.

The way I see it is more of a fit issue rather than one guy vs the other in the depth chart. Keefe likes Holl’s experience and big body on the second pair. So if Muzzin was out Holl likely leapfrogs Liljegren to the second pair.

But with Muzzin in, he seems to like Gio-Liljegren better for the third pair. I think Keefe probably realizes Liljegren has more two-way upside, but he just isn’t quite ready to burden him with a higher pressure role.

No official word but if I had to guess he won’t play tomorrow. He was out Sunday so probably dealing with minor wear and tear. If he sits tomorrow he’ll have nearly a week off before game 1, so it would make sense to keep him off the ice entirely and just let him take advantage of the time.

Speculation but he was fine last game and there’s been nothing reported to suggest otherwise.

Agreed, good. Assume this was the decision of each of those players, and good on them.

I feel Rielly might want to get to the 82 GP... if he does play, hopefully his ice time is drastically reduced.
 
I can’t wait for the regular suspects to be outraged about playoff habits when the Leafs lose this one after sitting half the team.
